35 years of smoking. 2 packs a day. Insane.

Today I took my second hike.

Usually the saying goes "what goes up must come down" but ...
with hiking, what goes down must come back up .
Hiking down 300 feet and having to come back up, nearly straight up, I could breathe so much better !

ps. I always hiked, but sometimes, I would change my mind when I looked down knowing that I had to come back up. . . . not anymore !

Dabbled since I was 10. Inhaled my first Newport at 14 and they had me. I didn't consider myself one of those addicted smokers since a pack would typically last me several days and I was fairly athletic. This went on for 20 years and never smoked at work. Started working from home and I was an instant pack a day smoker. Averaged a carton per week the last couple of years with my share of 2+ pack days. They long since stopped tasting like what I remembered them as a kid but I remained loyal. Other than the constant smell, the cost, and the fact I'm not an indestructible kid anymore, I didn't want to stop, or so I thought, but couldn't seem to slow down on my own.

Got introduced to vaping a few weeks ago and forgot to smoke for a couple of days. Amazing.
