This is my third post and my 9th day smoke free due to e-cigs. Hallelejah !! Thank you Lord and ECF!

I was wondering if we can all put in this thread how many people you have told about e-cigs.

I feel it is an obligation to spread the word about this potentially life saving alternative to analogs.

I have told 13 people in 9 days so far, 3 siblings and ten people at work.

How many have you told? Lets try to get a total....

Paulie, You and I quit analogs around the same time, mine was 11 days ago today.

I actually bought my first PV (a look-a-like) about 4 or 5 months ago to get used to it. So in the about 5 months I've been using these look-a-likes (4 different ones now, 2 were dispos) I've probably told a few dozen people about it. My favorite are telling the ones that either come up and ask (2 or 3 so far have done this) when they notice me taking a puff then sticking what they thought was a lit cigarette into my pocket! Or the one PV that has a blue tipped LED on the end of course has drawn some comments/questions. Even more than these, I've enjoyed telling the ones that give me bizarre looks as I am messing around, adding juice, changing parts etc, and have to assure them that no, this is not what they think, it's an e-cig (PV of course being the preferable terminology I guess).

Like you, I want to, feel like, and feel a responsibility toward sharing my neophyte success story with anyone and everyone whom will listen!

My wife is sick of hearing about this, of course!

I know for one that I cannot help but want to tell everyone about it because I am so excited by the easy results I have obtained. I have patched, gummed, inhalerized, Wellbutrinned, Zybanned, been hypnotized, cold turkeyed, switched brands, switched strengths, and also minted. I have tried everything for 42 years....I am 56 and have been smoking since it was "cool" in High School......14 years old.

All those methods left me with a need to still have to fight at some level, willpower...spiritually. There was not a calm and peaceful feeling that ever accompanied any of my attempts. It was more like ....well...here we go again.
This time I am at peace, this "vaping" creates that peace and inner calm that all the others were lacking.
I want to tell everyone this is the greatest thing since "sliced bread".....

Pffft... My success has trickled down the grape vine. Just about all my friends know and their spouses where applicable. At least 20 people there. I got my family to all become smoke free * go me, I'm Super Lung Saving Woman*

I've now started a blog about it so who knows how many mooore people I might reach with that.

Then my Nana the little lady who loves to brag knows so I'm sure at least 50 people in my extended family have "heard" of me and my family's success quitting smoking using one.

Oh ya, Welcome to ECF!!

LMAO and I must agree, anyone who will listen! Who knows how many random people I've talked to about it...

I'm always willing to talk about vapeing with anyone that shows interest and have converted a few people from analogs and steered others away from some of the "scam" products on the market. I really enjoy answering questions about it for people who have never smoked and are puzzled by what I'm doing. However, there are some people out there that will likely never accept that vapeing is a legitimate activity and far less dangerous than smoking.

The one instance that really sticks out in my mind was the reaction of one very closed minded woman. I was outside of a store, off to the side out of anyone's way and peacefully vapeing when this lady walked obviously out of her way with her kid in tow to tell me I was a horrible person and engaged in an activity that is making the world unsafe for everyone around me including her child. I tried to show her it was not a cigarette, attempted to give her a simple explanation of what a PV is and that it does not spew the thousands of chemicals into the air that cigarettes do, but she kept shutting me down at every turn and insisting what I was doing was part of some corporate scheme designed to rake in cash and kill people faster. It was clear she was determined to live in absence of the facts. I thanked her for dragging her child into what she perceived to be "harm's way" and demonstrating to him how to be an abrasive person before wishing her a pleasant day in as nice of a tone as possible (almost dripping with sincerity instead of sarcasm).

I love having the chance to share information about vapeing with people who are interested or curious, but there will always be those who willingly choose to not understand or accept what this really is. I'm not one for confrontations and find it's best to take the high road in situations like this because we will win more hearts and minds (and therefor more acceptance). Just my perspective and anecdote of an odd occurance.

I have been vaping for about 6 months. It started out as an alternative for analogs, which I can't use at work. But, on October 29, 2011, I put down my analogs for good. I feel so much better, and thank God everyday for the greatness of e cigs.

I have told countless people about my experiences and everything I know about e cigs (which is not much probably). For a fact, I have been responsible for no less than 10 people using e cigs, and at least three people have quit analogs through my communications.
