How many run a Kick by Evolv?

Do you run a Kick by a Evolv?

  • Absolute must.

  • Here and there sometimes.

  • Never.

Just wondering how many people run kicked device, how many cannot live without one and who just runs a straight 3.6-4.2v battery?

Only reason I am asking is that I picked up my first mechanical mod (Atmizoo Roller) and as hard as I try to like vaping with it, I keep picking up my ProVari. This is only because it gives me the extra vapor and flavor I need, it has that kick I need.

So next month I am going to pick up a kick for my roller and hopefully that does the trick...

Slightly off-topic about vaping on the Roller:

When I throw a SR Boge carto on the Roller with a fresh battery (so ~4.1v) I still get a better vape experience with the ProVari @ 3.9 volts. I know the reason is because of the voltage regulation etc. etc. etc. but it's just odd...

So tried vaping a 1.5ohm RBA setup on the Roller, again fresh battery and still, although better, not as great. However, the general consensus on RBAs is that most people run massive wattage on RBAs.

Just still weird how 8.0-8.3 watts on the ProVari with a Boge gives me a better vaping experience than the Roller pushing about 10 watts on the RBA...

i have a Kick in both my Saber touchs. I love using a kick and cant imagine being without. That reminds me, I need another for my new Super-T ELA when It finally ships out.

BTW, I just noticed you mentioned you were using a SR carto, with a mechanical mod at 3.7 volts you need a lower resistance Ohm to get warmer vape and larger clouds. If you get a kick, than you can set your wattage at about 8 to start and you can use higher resistance and you will get a warmer better performance out of HR. In fact for the Kick its suggested you use a resistance of 2.4 - up to 3.0 for best results.

I have my kick set at 8.5 with my ohms at 2.7 - 3.0 and I get a voltage output reading of 4.10 aprx. I like a cooler vape, so If you want a warmer experience you could set it at 9 or even 10 watts. Just start out at 7.5 and put it up to get the perfect experience. You will also get constant performance till the battery dies with out a decline in performance, which is what I love about the KICK.

Another plus, especially if you build your own wicks and coils is that you dont have to be so precise about the resistance the Kick will adjust itself for the same performance even if your ohms are 2.0 to 4.0.

I have one that I used in my modded VMod XL. The only complaints I have regarding the Kick are the inconsistent negative contact and and oxidization of the contact points as well as the decreased battery capacity available. While decreasing the battery size, The Kick also draws excess capacity from the reduced-size battery to accomodate the boost circuit. I averaged 5hrs vape time with my Kick. When it works flawlessly, it's a great addition.

I've built my own aluminum 18650 VW bottomfeeder w/micro-USB via the DNA12 from the same manufacturer as the Kick. Soldered connects own friction contacts all day!

Thats really odd, Ive been using mine for a long time and no oxidation, maybe your batteries are more sweaty than mine:) Yes, the battery like is shorter, but it makes sense because you are running them at a constant wattage with out drops, so they dont run as long, but its worth it to me, I just pop in another one.

About the only time I use the kick is for cartos. If you like RBAs, it's really not needed IMO. Building a ~1ohm coil out of some 28g/30g still produces a good vape right down to 3.2v (17w to 10w). What gauge wire were you using for your RBA? You do have to factor in temperature differences between different wire (ie it's more about the temp not the wattage)
