My monthly costs spike a few times a year, as I stock up on heads for my favorite toppers and nic liquid. The routine monthly costs for my wife and I are about $18 for liquid, (360ml @ 5 cents per ml), as I DIY, and about $5 for heads, so about $23 a month. I watch for sales to stock up on the stuff I know we'll need, so I spend about $100 on that stuff in bulk every few months. Total cost including bulk purchases probably averages about $60 per month, but I have enough nic, flavorings, batteries and toppers/heads to last about five years at this point.

For 2015, our monthly cost should be under $20/month, unless I see something new and shiny that I can't resist!

while I order some juice about $40 a month bulk stuff for me and Ed..haven't this month when you have a lot of juices it gets down to about one a week that you buy..

so this month for us both (so half that for one)
1 bottle of Mother's Milk $30 (including evil sales tax, shipping or sales tax you're going to pay so I support our local B&M if I can)
2 bottles of Henchmen $40 (they had a special and we have loyalty points)
1 5 pack of coils $10.

$120 ..about right..so about $60 that's not including hardware because we're "good" at this point with the isticks and kangers.

I spend around almost $200 every four to five weeks ordering our tobacco and tubes..so it's about the same..with vape gear a little more..I figured that'd stabilize out at about six months and it has for the most part. I budgeted about $100/month each and pretty much haven't exceeded that too much even with all the beginner gear.

I am spending more than I should, but far less than I would smoking (see my signature), and far far less if you consider the cumulative health care costs of continuing to smoke.

Hanging out on these forums hurts and helps. It's bad because I see all these shiny new toys and delicious juices I would otherwise be oblivious to. On the other hand, it has helped a bunch in terms of increasing my economic efficiency.

I think the key is to figure out your hardware and juice profiles. For example, because of my work, I'm vaping on kayfun rebuildables 90% of the time on a vv/vw device that goes to 30-50 watts. I tend to like mid-shelf priced juice: mostly fruit and beverage flavors with a few tobaccos thrown in.

Your first year, you're going to buy a lot more stuff becuase you're experimenting, but after a while it settles down and you can make better long-term purchases.

WAY TOO MUCH! Lol! Once it became a "hobby" and not a "habit" I seem to spend a lot more - especially after I realized the huge difference between clones and authentics. I don't mind spending the money, though. It has kept me away from cigarettes for more than 3 years and I'm not even buying juice with nicotine any more. That, alone, is worth just about ANY amount of money.

If I'm not buying any devices on a given month, I probably spend less than $50. I mostly vape juices from ITCVapes.com and Dr. Crimmey's and their juice is as affordable as any I've found and their flavors are (to me) comparable to MANY of the high-end retailers; and, in many cases, I actually prefer their juice to the high-end stuff I've tried.

This month, though, I've bought 1 new RDA (Hobo V2.1), 2 new tanks (Aspire Atlantis - one was for my wife), stocked up on juices (about 1000ml) and just ordered a Hana DNA 40 (in Olive Green). So, my bill for the month was more like $550. OUCH! On the bright side, there's only 2 more RDA's (Veritas & Vertex) on my wish list, currently, and my wife is happy with her Lemo and here Atlantis; so my VapeBill should be a little smaller for a while. Lol!

When I first started, I had to try out everything. I probably averaged about $150 a month for the first 6 months. I have gotten over the need to get new shiny toys recently, and usually spend on average $10 and 20 a month on DIY supplies, and replacing old batteries. Now that I have found what I like, I am enjoying the money I am saving by just maintaining what I have.

2 weeks in I've spent a total of $104 on an iStick, Nautilus Mini, and some ejuices. Now all I need is to find more ADVs. My current ADV is great but I'd like to change it every few days. The good thing is I have only had 3 cigs in 2 weeks. Where normally I would have smoked almost 7 packs ($35). Another 2 weeks of smoking and I would have spent another $35, making it about $70 per month (or more, never less). I still have half a carton sitting in my room because getting into vaping was not even planned.

Too much, and yet not enough.

It's kind of stabilized, although I'm definitely entering hobby territory, and entering a new phase is always more expensive than upkeep.

It's been $60ish monthly for gear, but I see that dropping soon. Then approximately as much every other month (ok, maybe twice that every other month) for DIY stuff, mostly just flavors. But I haven't been DIYing long, so a fair amount has been "initial spending" there.

Conclusion: inconclusive.

I now have several mechanical mods and well made RB/DAs that I really like, plus DIY and rebuilding supplies up the wazoo, so I don't really have to spend any money at all unless I want something new and shiny, just for fun.

I thought this day would never come, but yeah: I can now honestly say that vaping costs me almost nothing month to month.

I'm coming up on 6 months now and have not kept specific track of what I have spent getting started and staying with it. Having said that, I am quite comfortable saying I have spent enough less then smoking that I used the savings to buy a fog machine for Halloween and virtual Santa for Christmas. And I still have a couple extra bucks burning a hole in my pocket.

What could be better then that?

Here in Michigan cigs are 60 a carton. In the last two months I could have spent $480 on them. Instead I spent that amount on an IPV 2s, spinner 2, 2 Nautilus minis and Atlantis tanks and the rest on enough juice for the previous two months and the next 2 months. Going forward I'd like to keep consumables under a dollar a day. I'll buy hardware when I see the merits.

My wish list includes a dna40 mod where a removable battery and the tank of my choice can be mounted by side with nickel coil heads for the tank. I'd also like to be doing DIY juice.

Annual cost for cigs was almost $3,000. Vaping could be 15% of that with DIY but I'm sure I'll buy some hardware.

Spending money is fun, right? In the first year spend what you would have spent on cigs but then use some of that money to help somebody else who still smokes.

I was bad last month, probably spent close to $500 but I bought my first mech mod and all that entails. I have only spent $22 on a bottle of Alpha so far this month, and Giant Vapes sent me the wrong mg, which they corrected, so I ended up with 2 for the price of one. I would like to be good, but with Christmas coming I just don't think I can resist. I foresee buying the hubs lots of new vaping gear, if he can buy a ps4 for our son then I can buy vape gear for him, right?
