I have spent $1,200 and most of it was in the first 4 months. Cig-a-like and pre-filled cartos was $300 in the beginning. My last purchase was 4 months ago (Vivi Novas, Mini Novas, spare heads, wire and wicks).

I have at least a 2 year supply of everything. My DIY may last longer than that because I am tapering down the nic faster than I had planned. At the 1 year mark (a few weeks from now) I will be $2000 ahead.

I will probably buy more things. When my iTaste gives out I will probably buy an eVic (or whatever is Great at the time, Lol) even though I won't need it since I have lots of spare eGo types.

The first year was certainly easier than I had expected (so far) and I don't have any regrets other than I wish my Government would make it easier for others to vape instead of smoke!

The first month I probably spent $100.00. Since then I set a strict budget of between $40.00 - $50.00 every 2 weeks, or $100.00 a month. :D That's about a third of what I was spending on cigarettes.

I got into vaping to save money. My bank account was going into the red because of cut backs at my wife's job and my out of control addiction.

I spent very little at the start because I was fortunate to stumble accross this forum and read for a few days before buying anything other than the crap e-cig i got from the gas station. I have been vaping less than a year and have spent maybe $350 including fluid and setup. I know this number sounds low but I started almost right away with making my own fluids. Also I was not a heavy smoker I didn't even smoke ½ a pack per day because my wife is allergic to it and I got tired of going outside to smoke. Congrats on quiting and when you think you have spent alot of money make sig and see how much you saved. The banners will help you realize you are spending less, living healthier and still enjoying yourself.

Started vaping in April (first gear showed up the 5th) and I had already been cigarette free for a month before that. 9 months on PVs, 10 months no ciggies.

Would smoke about half a pack a day, $6-7.50 a pack, so around $100/month on 'em. It was probably higher, as after having a few drinks or giving out some the pack would've surely taken a larger hit than 10 cigs.

So far though I've spent around $700. But this should stay pretty stable as I don't really need any new gear and have enough rebuildable supplies to last me a long time. Going to get into DIY juice to cut back even more, as that is the only thing I'm purchasing these days. The occasional replacement battery for my APV too.

I've managed to stay in the black thus far ($200 +/-) and would rather not dip into the red, but it doesn't seem to be a worry as long as I don't go buying a bunch of expensive mods in the near future. :p

my first month I bought a smoov 808d kit 78mm batt and 1 15ml bottle of juice and got a second for buying my kit free. that lasted me about 1 month and the second bottle of juice lasted me till the end of the 2nd month. Total the kit was about $70 and the juice was roughly $12 so about $112 including taxes and the drip tips etc that i couldnt live without. a worthy purchase and now i'm vaping a Katana about 3 M.A.D. which I am saving that money on cartos now so its a justified expense considering i make my own for about .28cents.

About $200 in all for DIY stuff. I bought an Ego-C, then read about building them, and I was lost to modding. In that I love building computers for my craft (animation and 3d), it applied to Vaping. I am struggling with eliquids in that many flavors I bought are either too strong or too weak. Since mixing my own I am finding the simplest recipes are the ones I enjoy the most. I do love flavor art tobaccos flavors so far.
Peace

In 9 months I've spent about $850. Cost of cigs at a pad over that time would have been around $1,170. I was buying them cheap. I vape about 2 1/2 ml a day. I have 4 Twists, a couple of Lavatubes and all the supporting hardware including spares for the spares. I've also started getting into DIY juice and have already bought a bunch of stuff for that that's included in my expenses so far.

I think next year my costs will go down especially considering the DIY and also the fact that I know what works for me, what I like and that I have found suppliers I understand and trust. I don't think it gets any better than this; save money, feel better physically, have a new hobby and get to spend some time on ECF :toast: :D

In the over 7 months that I have stopped smoking all those chemicals and tar, I did not spend a little over $1,000. In that time, I spent $60 a month, give or take, on my juices, and $20 every month and half for my tank cards. The big purchase was $200+ for the ProVari with blue LED and extension cap, batteries, and the tank. Right now I am already saving money. So, instead of spending $40 every week on a carton of chemicals and tars that burn, which comes to $200 to $240 a month, I now am saving. At least it is nothing like my boyfriend, who smoked only clove cigs and had to order them from over seas, taking weeks to get here and costing twice as much as mine for the same amount. He went this route a month before me. He has been saving way more than I am, but it is money that we are now saving.

Happy Holidays everyone!!! I have been vaping for about 2 months & have been completely off the analogs for 8 days now!!! I never thought I would be able to quit smoking but here I am, tobacco free & feeling great! I was a PAD smoker so I would normally spend about $150-$200/month on cigarettes, so spending $$$ on e-cigarettes was easily justified..however, to date I have spent over $500 on ecig products & juice's..there just always seems to be something I want or need, & i love getting new stuff in the mail too..lol...im not complaining because I enjoy everything about vaping and it is going to have a huge affect on my health. This could definitly turn into an expensive hobby(or addiction)...and im ok with that, lol... I was just wondering if anyone else feel like this? & how much did u spend ur 1st month or 2 vaping? or how much have u spent to date? just curious :)

You'll get past that once you find what works best for you. I think everyone goes through that but soon learn most of the new things are the same thing in a different pacage that has already been sold. I don't know how many different devices all have an adjustable boost regulater in them that boost the power from 3.7 volts to whatever you like under 6 volts. I quit counting at 20. But after the newness wears off and you settle in it becomes quite inexpensive. I go $40.00 a month sometimes for three months in a row. It can be addictive though if you let it.

I know this is off the beat a bit, yes it can be addictive, especially with all the different flavors that are out there. I am trying, myself, to get completely off of nicotine. My biggest problem is not that, it is having the drawing in factor. I guess since I have been smoking for almost 30 years, it is going to be hard to break that kind of habit.

I'm a heavy vaper. I spent about $300 on hardware till I figured out that I was just going to have to get a Provari. I wish I'd started off with it.

I spent a few hundred on juice in the first few months figuring out exactly what I liked. Now I DIY. I've got Years worth of nic and PG.. for about $200.

If you want to make a hobby out of this you can loose your shirt. I do what works for me, and that's it. I don't need every new gizmo that comes out.

I planned to quit smoking on New Year's Day and bought a gas station starter kit to help. I thought I would use the e cig when I got desperate. Once I started looking around, I found stories of instant quitters and decided to open the Metro starter early. Its only been five days but I haven't smoked a whole analog since. But I found I needed a backup battery, bought another starter kit. Then found out about adding juice instead of buying disposable cartos. Then wanted a bigger juice carto, etc., etc. Less than a week and with pending orders, $200. I'm glad I found this thread and know I'm not alone in spending hundreds. I think I could survive several months with what I have, but agree with all who said it is fun to explore and I'm not in this to save cash.
