I'm spending about $12-13 per week, but that includes amortization for eGo-type fat batteries, which I figure are only good for about 100 charges (they're mostly at 200 or more charges at this point and still going strong). Were I to DIY exclusively, I'd get that down to maybe $7-8 per week. I clean Boge SR cartos, some up to four times, before pitching them.

I was smoking two cartons per week at about $60 per carton.

Big difference . . .

What are you vaping on equipment wise? It sounds like you aren't being satisfied. Higher voltage or low resistance can create more heat & be more satisfying. WTA might help too.

I'm vaping on the k-go and the silver bullet at 3.7volts. I am going to go down to 18ml...I did not realize that the 24 and 36 were going to be that strong for me considering the strong tobacco I smoked. I'm satisfied, but I do not know where everyone gets this cheap juice. I have been to so many sites and the average cost seems to be around $.50/ml so at 180ml per month, it will cost me 90 per month before shipping.

I guess I am shopping at the wrong houses.

I clean my cartos also so that is not a problem, but where do you get good juice for that type of money. This seems to be my main question. I have not found a quality juice (that I know of) for these cheap prices.

I was spending $60.00 a week or $240.00 a month for cig. That was almost 2 cartons a wk. I know have got my vaping down to $75-$95 a month. I get 6 pks of stainless steel boge cartomizers from litecig for my liquinator and I get 180ml of e-liquid from Bluemist. I also sometimes get a sampler pack from them of 5 10ml samples just to try different flavors. My savings are $145-$165 a month and I don't have to diy.

Generally for e-liquids, I wait until sales, then buy in sufficient quantities so that I get free shipping. I like some of MadVape's American-made e-liquids, plus they have a great price on 50 ml. Dekang 555 bottles on sale (around $10 per bottle, or 20 cents per ml.). I also buy cartos in massive quantities directly from China -- my Boge SRs cost 72 cents each with free shipping on orders over $250. The free shipping is literally via the "slow boat from China," but I have plenty of backups to tide me over while I wait.

FRANKSTER, judging from what you've said about your purchasing habits (multiple vendors, never waiting for sales), you're probably paying twice or more what I am for e-liquids and replaceable hardware (batts and cartos).

I agree with you...I am going to diy, but only if I can make a juice I really like. I want to vape a high quality juice and I guess that cost more money...Some of the numbers I am seeing here thus far are staggering. I do not know what kind of juice is so cheap. I'm talking about bwb, eliquid express, kbv and these houses...You cannot buy juices from these houses without spending money.

I guess, I am shopping at the wrong houses and if so...where are the quality juices at these cheap prices?
I found Mom & Pop's RY4 (I know, I know -- the dreaded RY4!) to my liking, if a bit sweet. Their RY4v2 is less sweet; I've thought about mixing them. $15 for a 30 ml bottle. To me even that sounds a little high though. I'm a cheapskate. Not sure if these can be my daily vape, as I am still in experimenting mode, but I like them. I've ordered some Goode Juice to try, which can be had for $12.99 /30 ml.

I think you are right..I should shop around for sales...the problem comes up when you really like a juice and it cost like .65/ml for example, bwb then you are stuck. That 555 for .20/ml sounds like a great deal. The cartos wont be costing me much. A carto last me about 2 weeks and then I boil them. I get another 2 weeks out of them.

I hope the diy works for me, if not, I have to make wiser choices.

Thanks for the info

When you're first starting out, like I was, you literally have nothing on hand and will buy just about anything you can get your hands on, not knowing about bulk discounts or free shipping or even what hardware works and what juice tastes good. That's the boat I'm in as well.

I don't know how much I'll spend monthly because I don't know what I like yet, what works yet, and where to get the best deals. That's why I read threads like this voraciously!!

Frankster, I've bought some juice from Madvapes, they're reasonable on the prices and the tastes aren't bad. Root beer, Grandpa's Mix, and even some unflavored. I think I paid like $2 for 6 ml (I only buy small bottles to try, got burned buying 30 mls from another vendor and hated the flavor.) My favorite juice right now comes from Virgin Vapor, and it's pricey, but it's like a work of art. The flavor and vapor are incredible, so I'm willing to pay for it and mete it out to myself so I don't run out quickly.

Good luck finding what works.

I tried only 2 ry4's The first I hated and still have, the second one was taboo and that is alot better than the first so I have not completely given up on ry4. I really want to try the ry4 from bwb but it is never in stock.

Thanks, I really like the juice from bwb but they are pricey. I will try diying hoping I can make a good juice. I am willing to pay up a bit if I love the juice and thus far ( cannot believe I am saying this) but bwb is the best I have tried considering I like the 3 that I vaped. I'm sure they have a few more I like. I will see. Virgin Vapor?...I'll check them out

The cheapest juice I've ever found that I liked was $10.00 for 30ml from Nitelite vapor. They quit carrying the 2 flavors I liked though so now I pay from $12.50 to $15.00 for 30 ml. from a couple other vendors. I don't know of anything decent for any cheaper than $10.00 for 30ml though myself.

2 packs of XL Fluxos from GotVapes, about $12 a five pack, $24
I keep five flavors oj juice on hand at all times, plus a few steeping. 4 30ml bottles at $16 a bottle, $64

Total, under $90 a month. I like the fluxos because they last me a pretty long time. I bought my first pack about 6 weeks ago, and am still on two of them. You never get the burning filler taste, which I cant stand, and you can see how much juice is left in them. Cleaning is easy and has never left me with a mixed flavor with them whn switching juices.

Being in SC, analogs arent nearly as expensive as up north, maybe $4 a pack or $35 a carton.. I will say I got lucky fiding a setup I liked pretty quickly. But all in all, from a financial standpoint, Im doing a little better than breaking even. And I am a heavy vaper.

Thanks for the info. That's the price I figure on the juice...I have already 4 or 5 solid juices, but sometimes they are out of stock. It does not pay to really like a juice and then you cannot get it.

At first we all seem to go over board on what we buy. But, after you have about 20 PV's, every kind of carto & atty ever made, and a couple of hundred different flavors laying around things will start to settle in.
At about 6 months into vaping I found that I was vaping two flavors 99% of the time with a couple of small bottles of treat juices to drip now and then. So I spend about $16 every two weeks on juice, and $7.25 for a box of new cartos every now and then.
Anything else I spend on vaping is just entertainment anymore. No doubt I will drop about 50 bucks on some silly gizmo again next mounth ... maybe a couple more carto tanks. (ya know I just can't live without one of those 5ml J-tanks to put on my SB for when I get a kick to put in it)

I've tried a bunch of fancy juices but the ones I like to vape all day are the simple dekang juices which are very cheap. I buy 30ml of dk-tab or ry4 for 6.99$. I probably vape 2ml per day which means I spend less than 20$ a month on juice. I drip and don't ever use cartos, I haven't lost an atty yet, so it's pretty economical. Also I find dripping gives me a really strong hit so I think I vape less!

to MustangSallie: Where are you buying your juice and cartos??? I buy my cartos from CCV. At $19 shipped for 15 Boge cartos I'm paying $1.27/carto.

OP: I go through lots of Cartos, I use one for two days then pitch it. $19/mo. Juice @ about $.35/ml and 4 ml/day =$42/mo
Total for disposables/ mo. Call it $60......................Not including all the equipment I don't need but keep buying!!!!

I buy my juice from Copper Creek. I use Boge 3.0Ω cartos, and I have been lucky enough to get boat loads of them on sale at 5 for $6, with no shipping. Good Prophets is a good source when they have them in stock, but now you have to buy enough of them to get the $6 price. 10 boxes I think for $5.99.
