Any post/reply/new thread count towards your 5. You're asking about how often we change our atomizer. My answer (for a store bought atomizer) is mine last anywhere from 2 weeks to 8 weeks. I have many different tanks going and some juices are a bit harsher on the coil as far as them getting gunked up. I'd guestimate you'll get a good 4 weeks from yours, obviously thats just a guess though. Welcome to the forum!

Unlike most, I change the wick on my KangerTech (pro and mini) every other day - sometimes every day.
The game plan for me is I don't want to hassle
I have a good battery (MVP2) and the Kanker. There is nothing to go wrong that changing the wick won't fix. If it floods change the wick, it plugs up - change the wick, it burns - change the wick. Life is simple.
I buy the wicks 50 at a time for $1 each and I don't have to think about it until I run out of wicks.
It works for me.

I think they are supposed to last around 2 weeks, but you can clean them to get longer life, or as wongnumba said change the wicks, some people rebuild them. I rinse and soak mine in everclear, I change atomizers every day because I'm always changing flavors. I have 7 dual coil atomizers I've been rotating for over 6 weeks now without problems. Welcome to the vaping world!

I currently use organic cotton in big ol' honkin' 26 gauge macro coils, so changing wicks is a breeze. I'm a bit of a psycho, so I do this every day or every other day, though this would probably seem excessive to a lot of people. I just really like a clean, fresh taste.

The coils themselves last for weeks.

I've been wondering, does organic cotton provide a better flavor than the wicks that come with the atomizers? I have been considering rewicking, thanks!

You'll probably not get a definite answer or even an average. It depends on several factors.
1) pg/VG ratio
2) flavourings used
3) voltage/wattage
4) toppers used
5) wicks used
6) etc, etc

Over time, you'll get a feel of when to change your wick/coil. Me? When I feel like it and can be bothered. There will be a dip in vape quality over time, but that makes the vape all the more awesome when I rewick/recoil.

I think the frequency of change is dependent on you vaping habits. A good tell sign is if you pick up your ecig one day and something doesn't taste right or feel right. The taste might be a little burnt, draw is tighter, your device is leaking a bit.... those are all signs that your coil with the wicking material is almost done and you need to either replace it or clean it.

Do you mean those crappy little silica things? If so, then I'd say YES, for sure.

I use cotton because I love the taste, and because the wicking is awesome. The vapor seems denser and creamier than either silica or mesh, and it holds tons of juice.

:)

If you poke around on the Reubuildables Forum I'm sure you can find plenty of good tips. Folks over there are pretty savvy.

I didn't realize so many people were able to use their coils for so long.. Seems like I build a new coil just about every night. I've only got a mini pro tank 2 with five atomizer heads that I keep rotating out. Seems like the flavor starts to suffer toward the end of the day and I want to have a fresh start in the morning.

I guess I'll have to see how long I can go on one coil without rewicking/rebuilding.. I kinda have to anyway.. Getting low on Kanthal lol
