I was really surprised last night when I had an intense craving for a cig. It's been over 7 months that I've been vaping and I thought I was out of the woods. Am I alone here having these cravings so long after I've quit the stinkies?
How long have you been vaping and how often do you still crave cigs?

I can say for myself first off that I'm just shy a month of being a year cigarette free which is absolutely amazing to me. Being a long time smoker for over 30 years I'm not sure if I'm craving a cigarette or the actual act of smoking. Whichever it is I find when I do have those "cravings" I pick up my tobacco ejuice that is higher nicotine than my ADV's and it passes quickly.

I've been vaping for almost four years. I never had real cravings; they were more like quiet longings - "It would be so nice" rather than "I need a cig now!" I had them periodically for two or three years, but not in the last year or so.

On the other hand, one of my Mum's friends quit about thirty years ago and she still has occasional cravings. She was really disappointed when nursing homes started banning smoking because she'd always intended to take it up again when, in her words, "it didn't matter anymore."

Occasionally the smell of someone lighting a cigarette with a match still smells good. I have had thoughts occasionally but not an actual craving. 2 years 4 months and counting. The first year there were times when it seemed like a great idea. Then I would smell a smoker and that would cure me.

Like @sketchness said occasionally that freshly lit cigarette smells good but I never crave a smoke anymore since I gave in and had one probably 2 years ago now and could not wash that stink off me. Although I could have one if I wanted I still remember the smell on my hands and no amount of washing or brushing teeth could illuminate it. Never again.........

My first couple years I vaped 30mg - 36mg/mL juice to keep the cravings away. Since then I've lowered it very slowly, always keeping some high-nic around just in case. Guess that was the time the cravings lessened also because the vaping and lower nic persisted.

p.s. Whenever I had tried nic patches or gum to quit, it was when I started lowering the nic level that I started smoking again.

Okay, for me being just shy of 4 years off the smokes... I still like the smell of a fresh unlit cig and every once in a blue moon I get the craving for a Marlboro Smooth.... But I never cave in because the stench alone would make me barf. Not to mention the taste... :nah:

No, never. For me, I despise them. The stink, the health issues, even the hurting of those near me. For others, a tad sadness and some hope. Someone told me when I was young to just "be an example". I failed in places and floated along in others. When I was teaching, I knew that when I walked in the building, I knew I was being watched. Not smoking is good. Actually, vaping is the other way for me, and probably for others. To grow a little bit every day is good.

@celticluvr , when I was 10 or 11 I delivered the newspaper to the oldest tobacco shop in America, it was awesome.

like two previous posters, i still love the smell of a lit cigarette too and on occassion i still find myself wanting one after all these years. i don't actually crave one really, i just simply want one sometimes when i get a whiff of someone's cigarette, outdoors only though.

I've been vaping for 4 years on March 5th. I will say I have only had a cig craving once. And that was about a year ago. Nothing eventful triggered it and it passed quickly. I absolutely hate the smell of cigarette smoke or being around someone who smells like stale cigarette smoke. Being around smokers only makes me glad I don't smoke anymore.

During 6 weeks of dual using cigarettes gradually did'n't taste so good. e liquid flavors were changing my taste. For some months after that I'd have an occaisional longing but no strong craving. In the last 2 years I've smoked half a dozen only for the purpose of proving to some smoker i was immune to relapse. The last time i did that the experience was so unpleasant it won't be repeated. i stand with the smokers on break at work and wonder how I ever liked the activity.

Used to crave every time i drank, i still get the "craving" when watching a movie or something that has a lot of smoking in it. Binged out on "the mick" and it really had me wanting to have one... but then i puffed away and was ok. 4th of July is a really hard day/week for me too because i live in a state where we can blow stuff up for a whole week and spend a lot of time outside doing that and used to go through a ton of smokes as my punks...

Yeah, watching a movie with smoking in it definitely brings on cravings for me too.
