How quick did you drop the nic?

Does unflavored really dilute the flavor a lot? I've got 6mg unflavored to lower the 18 but don't want my juice to taste really muted. I guess I can play with it before buying a bunch of 6mg. I also for some dumb reason have a 24 mg unflavored

I wonder if I had a few glasses of wine when I bought all this stuff!

I either get the same or a complimentary flavor In 0 or 6mg. I mix in small batches 10 - 12 ml at a time. Think of it as DIY practice :)

I dropped down a couple of months into vaping from 24 to 18mg. About every three months I dropped down. Like you, my body let me know. Mostly it was the Taste of the nic. It started just tasting harsh to me. After a year vaping, I'm now down to 9mg.

I would drop by 3mg's each drop so it wouldn't feel quite so noticeable.

Yeah, I ended up paying forward some.....well quite a bit of liquid :)

I had exactly the same experience. When I started tasting the nicotine I would drop the level down. Currently at 4mg where I will likely stay.

This is why this forum Kicks Ash! When I first started out, I read some of these type answers before but when you're super new, it doesn't "sink in". Maybe it was the fog brain I get sooo bad after quitting. But to read these answers it refreshed my memory that I do recall that biting the bullet, buying dif level of nic in one flavor allows me to kind of DIY on nic level w/out sacrificing taste.

Also, someone in the post said "wait till I step up to even more powerful mods" (something similar). It just dawned on me, I got a new VV. I'm playing w/it constantly=VAPING MORE. I switch up between 6-7 flavors/unflavored now so there's no way for me to see my ml use. I don't just sit and vape I kind of vape couple minutes here and there. I think my couple of minutes has turned into a lot more and I didn't even think about it. So it has just dawned on me, I'm getting more nic now. DUH!

I guess deep down, I didn't want to cut out nic so fast because A) I enjoy the TH and B) I told myself once I'm at zero, I don't need to vape anymore. I figured it would take me forever to go down in nic, but its going pretty quickly. Might have to DIY this and take baby steps to make it last long!!! 18 to 17 1/2 to 17,.....;)

At least it's great to hear others dropped about the same time frame. I know everyone's different but I guess this just took me by surprise.

I wish I could give you good advice, but I think I am in the same boat as you are. I am on 24mg for 2 1/2 months and think I need to drop my level too. I was planning on buying the same flavors in a much lower nic, but like you say, that is going to take a chunk out of the budget. I will be interested to hear others' views on this. One thing I have been hearing a lot, is if you switch over to an RBA dripper, it seems most people have to drop their nic level if I am understanding what I am reading correctly.

I started at 18 mg, it was perfect and now around 60 days later I'm thinking I need to drop down already!?!? I'm pleasantly happy, but super surprised. Figured I'd be on 18mg for around 6 months. I'm getting the typical too much nic signs: slightly racing heartbeats, jitters and slight upset stomach after heavier vape times.

I know everyone is different but does anyone know if there's an average time frame for a 1- 1 1/2 pad/Marlboro Light smoker? Just curious.

What blows is I just bought 6 bottles of 30ml/18 mg! Either going to add 6mg of unflavored and lose some taste or going to have to buy 6 new bottles of 6mg. My wallet is taking a beating!

Bwahahahaha! Fog brain! No, it's more like information overload when first starting out ;)

Even if I Do get to zero (highly doubtful but then I never thought I would quit smoking either) I will continue to vape (as long as the FDA is reasonable). It takes care of the hand to mouth habit I've lovingly cultivated for over 30 years. :)

I'm about ready to drop to 8mg. For some reason, 6 scares me. I'm glad I have a vendor who will mix what I need, even if its not on the drop down menu. :D

Before anyone suggests DIY to me, I've been vaping for over a year now. If I wanted to DIY I would be doing that. I have Zero interest in doing so. Yes, I know all the arguments for getting into DIY. I still don't want to. :p

Sometimes you can "cheat"...without DIY. With some vendors, the 0 mg nic was WAY cheaper. So were "double flavor". People used to buy double strength nic double flavor pre-mix and cut it in 1/2 themselves. Or they'd get double-strength normal flavor and 0 mg same-flavor and mix it.

IDK if that still happens. But you end up with the same "boutique" juice flavor at a slightly lower cost. IDK if you consider mixing two bottles of juice from a vendor into one a DIY thing...but it could save $$.

I've thought of that, but I'm already saving quite a bit already. So I'm not worried about the cost. My savings column on my spreadsheet just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I'm down to buying liquids every other month and replacement stuff about every 4-5 months or more. I'm truly just on cruise control now.

I also lowered the dose much faster than anticipated. I started at 24, dropped very quickly to 12, but levelled off around 6-8mg. I was out and about yesterday and went about 6 hours before I realized that I wanted a vape... This made me realize that the nicotine dependency is a pretty small factor at this point. So, last night's juice order was for about 200ml of 4mg juice. When that's exhausted, I'll probably drop to zero and slowly transition to occasional vaping (i.e. a couple of nights a week while reading in the study or over a glass of wine with my wife).

100% nic? That seems very unlikely.

You can buy 100% nic. It's added just one small drop to a bottle of juice to up the nic level. NO WAY COULD YOU VAPE JUST THE NIC!!!!! You add a tiny drop to increase the level. Lots of DIY folks use it. I got some 18mg and also 12mg that wasn't enough

I believe you are talking about 10% nic, which is 100mg/ml. 100% nic is....lets just say only to be handled in a lab environment with proper safety gear. I personally won't handle to 10% stuff without gloves and proper ventilation.

The biggest issue for me stepping down my nic% is the TH. I'm able to get enough nic in my system with just about any nic%, but if the TH isn't there, I'm not satisfied. I was up around 24mg+ with cartos and clearos and attys.

It's wasn't until I got into rbas that I was confident stepping down nic%. You can pull a significant TH from 12 or even 6mg with the proper rba setup. And that's what I'm all about.

I do still vape mostly 18mg, but that's just because my stockpile is formidable. I've got at least a years worth of premixed juice. I could always mix it down or use it in some of my surviving prebuilt delivery systems. And I don't mind the extra TH in my rbas :D

I started with 18mg, in a week, I dropped to 6mg, and now I don't use nicotine anymore. I started vaping to quit smoking, but also wanted to take myself off nicotine as it can be harmful and is addictive. 4 months later, I'm still vaping for pure pleasure and couldn't be happier!
It's great not "needing" to vape. It makes it more relaxing for me!

You can buy 100% nic.

I'm pretty sure that you are thinking about 100mg nic, not 100% nic. 100mg nic is 10%, not 100%, if I understand it correctly.

This is a fairly important point, considering 100mg nic is already enough to poison you if misused. If you are doing DIY, you need to be sure you understand the math.
