Perhaps if noification were in the pay it forward thread we would have more participation, instead of here. Or if you could get permission to put in the classifed it would get a lot of views. I go there at least twice a day to browse. PIF is under Social Groups if you didn't know. Even in the general discussion area would probably be better.

Yes I agree Moon, it would be much better served in either place but since it is not PV related, the Classifieds and General Discussion are not allowed.

I will send a request regards the PIF group. We were told this was where we could post but perhaps we can get approval for PIF. I know many more users go there than the Lounge. :)

howmuch of the proceeds go to the cause?. There are already many reputable foundations available and some that 100

what percent of the proceeds go to helping the children?. already many reputable foundations available some even send 100 percent of the proceeds to children. overhead cost covered by volunteers. being a police officer does not always mean public survant. I once got a ticket for failier to stop at crosswalk in front of a school. All he did was write tickets. I formed a petition to prohibit parking within 25 feet of the sidewalk so motorists could see when ppl were at crosswalk. Had to go to court and get the ticket dropped. So who was the public survant, Dam sure was'nt the cop!!!.

ChildFund International has existed for 70 years and has a long and proven record for their work. They are also audited annually. The children refceive 81 cents of each dollar donated. As has already been noted, that is very high among groups with a proven track record.

In a perfect world, 100% would go to the children but when you operate at that level, the help becomes intermitent as it depends on donated time and gasoline along with man power and vehicles. When you consider that the items I just mentioned actually cost money, it is then not a true 100%.

If the donated items mentioned for the 100% operations are calculated, then in truth there can be no 100% operation. None of this operates in a vacuum. As for this operation we are asking to be donated to, they provide professionals to see that the kids get the help needed. If I got to a hospital with a cut on my arm and have a choice between a volunteer stitching it up or a paid professional, you know what the choice would be.

ChildFund also has "boots on the ground" to follow through on their work. This isn't a deal where supplies are simply pushed out the back of a cargo plane for any local war lord to seize as his own. Just as there is a cost to dying there is also a cost to living. Our goal is to see that kids actually get fed, not just that someone is going to do their best to get food in the general area where help is needed. :)

Donation sent. I hate to hear about people like this. It's sad that Mother Nature can be so evil when she wants to be and the worst affected are children.

I know someone above said something about the percentage that goes to the children. I don't care if it's only 10 cents. That 10 cents could mean the difference between a child eating or not.

Please donate folks. Majority of us are willing to help other vapers out in need...how about helping a child out that's starving?

Thank you so much Hairball! It si greatly appreciated. I am working to get the thread title changed so maybe it will get more views at least but until then, please share this thread with your friends on ECF. As you said, even small change can literally mean life or death to these children.

I am always suspicious of all foundations as i used too live in a very poor country and saw first hand how things operated. It does'nt mean this one is bad! but I certainly would not donate without asking what percent of the proceeds reach the needy. I stand by my public survant statement, some are some are not.

Coming from a poor country then you know the needs better than most. Check out the link and independent reports and see that they do put 81% to the child themselves. If you prefer to use another organization to doante, that is also fine but just as long as you help. I am sure you would like to see some of your fellow countrymen have a better chance at life as you now have the chance to do. :)
