Sorry, we don't have the new 65mm's yet. Maybe in another couple of weeks. But, the "messed up" shorties do produce tons of vapor if you don't mind messing with the power post.

I personally don't mind but they'd be for my wife and the no-fiddle is the only way she'll have it... ;)

Sadly, this did not work for my new pink shorty I just got in the mail today. The center post appears to be well below the air holes, so I can't reach it.

Use the same method you use to remove the end cap on the cartos. Go down through the air-hole in the center of the battery and gently pull upward it will move and slowly work your way around until it's all at the same height.

I just bought a shorty the other day. I got the post up and it charges fine but the drag is so airy that there isn't enough vacuum created in the battery to trigger the pressure switch unless I drag on it like a shop vac. I think it's because the center battery post has the old style slit machined into it which allows air to flow above the post instead of being pulled through the battery.

Has anyone come up with a fix for this yet? I love the size but I just can't use it like this. I get no vapor due to so much air.

Do all of the shorties have the machined slit in the center post or did I get an oddball?

It's not the slit. I have a couple of batt mods and use 808 adapters with the slit.

I solved an "airy" passthru by sticking a round wooden toothpick in one of the little holes under the threads. I broke it off and then used my fingernail to make sure it was seated tightly. End of problem.

Come to think of it, I did the same thing with both of those adapers!

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try. I actually sealed up the entire connection where the cart meets the battery by putting tape around it last night to test it. That made it work since it had to pull all air from the LED and of the battery. The draw was still too light though IMHO. If I could get the draw to match a standard auto it would be the perfect battery.

Hopefully this next shipment of shorties resolves all of these issues.

Looking forward to them Leaford!

Cut the end off one of the carto condoms and slide it between the carto and the battery. Adjust for the airflow you desire by sliding it up or down a bit.

Hey guys question about the shorties. I am on my 2nd shorty which i received in last order. the 1st one was replaced by Steve and Mark and just got the replacement last week when i ordered. Now my 2nd shorty works most of the time but when i charge it the led light stays on. so i have to play around and lossen the batt on the charger til the light goes off and i have to keep playing with it. anyway does anyone have a problem like this. When you charge a battery what does it mean if the light on tip doesnt flash or stays lit? im not asking for a replacement again no need but how can i fix this so i can charge it without playing with the post for an hour or so. Thats why im posting here so i dont bother Steve or Mark. It works like this in the charger and also my PCC.
Maybe i should stay away from the shorties but i love the size. i know i will be getting 2 manuels when they come in. Thanks for any info

These shorties have new logic in them so that the "cherry" LED stays lit when charging and goes off when they're full. I think they'll blink when you pull them off the charger. They're kinda opposite of the regular/XL batteries.

There's some threads about them a few weeks back when we first started receiving the shorties. I just can't find them right now...

When I was at the V4L office on Thursday, I bought a bunch of batteries.

The new shorties have no issue whatsoever. When charging, the LED works the same as all the other batteries.

They also produce tremendous vapor! The "airy" draw is gone and seem to perform as well as the regular-length batteries. I'm not sure I can tell any difference (other than staying power) between the shorties, regular, or XLs.

All of the batteries I bought were the new single logo style autos. That's new for me. Before I went in there, I preferred manual batts.

I can't complain as this battery was a bonus item. I when I charge it, the blue LED stays illuminated, is this normal? It isn't charging or holding charge in either case. I just applied the method described in the video, hope that helps. Its in my PCC now and the LED is still on.

My white no logo took a crap on me as well, that one I did pay for, but again I can't complain because I've gotten a EXT manual and USB pass thru as a bonus as well :D

I could see this being a bigger issue for new customers because if thats the only batt you got, your screwed! Luckily I got a couple avenues for backups, plus all my friends have spares as well.

The 1st run of shorties were from a different manuf. as I was looking fro a backup. These, are the ones for 10 bucks, and the LED's stay on, while charging. These are aslo the ones, which sometimes need the pin fix, as per leafords video. When they work great, they are.

I then, had my regular Manuf, make us some shorties, with modifications, which will work perfect with all chargers, leds, do NOT stay on while charging, and are wonderful vapor producers, and feel very analog, in our hands.

We are still awaiting these newest ones in Manual, as I am working to get a bit more power out of these. Right now they are 180 Mah, and last a few hours, of heavy vaping, but, I desire at least 200-225 Mah, so we just, plain have more fun:lol:

Hope this explains.......we do not sleep, very much, as we are ALWAYS working on getting EVERYTHING better, and better:D

Enjoy

Steve:cool:

BTW, we have put up special kits, with our newest shorties, for your Vaping Pleasure:p

Ok, so I made the top of the power post flush with the top of the battery. Then allowed it to charge for 18hrs. It hadn't stopped charging (red led still illuminated) in my pcc so I removed it anyways.

It blinks 10 times as if it hasn't charged at all! I look forward to your new shorties by the existing manufacturer as I've had better luck with their products. These new guys are 0 for 1

Having said that; I love the blue LED, look and feel of the battery, and believe this product would work best as an automatic. It resembles an analog so much that I feel comfortable vaping it as I would a traditional cigarette. From my experience, my fellow vaporers hold their vapor kings like a straw. A method that works well for disguising the activity in stores and restaurants. However, I enjoy vaping with the big boys, those using analogs, as to try and convert them to my newly found religious beliefs. :D

Even though my shortie is inop, I'll hold onto it for display purposes until I acquire one of your new models upon arrival. Keep us posted!
