I use mine on a ZMax and an MVP and mine is airy out of the box. I do need to pull one of the wicks as P. Busardo shows on his review in order for it to feed right. Between the air holes in the beauty ring on the MVP and the channels in the Protank I have no issues there and on the S-ZMax it doesn't screw all the way down so no issues there. I can only assume maybe you are tightening flush to whatever unit you are using combined with it having no air channels or holes?

Did yours arrive with a condom on the tip ?
Seriously, Protanks are airy, airy, airy straight out of the box.
Maybe you got a duff head, try changing it for one of the spares.
Also try drawing on it when it's off the battery. If it feels tight then it is a duff.
If it draws ok off the batt then it must be a problem with air flow when you connect to the batt/pv.
(i thought this was a joke thread at first, but you folks seem to be taking it seriously) :D

Sometimes I forget I'm a nitwit.

I got so fed up with the ProTank I gave up and tossed it into my vaping gear box. Today, after reading the above responses I dug it out and gave it another go. Sweet bejeebus it miraculously healed itself!! It worked beautifully.

Then I remembered that I had bought two ProTanks. The other one still doesn't work.

Apart from the suggestions of trying a different head in it, check the three air holes just above the threads. If you are getting a tight draw, they must be either screwed down so they are blocked by your APV / battery threads or somehow gunked up.

That's all I got, I never thought I'd see the day I saw this thread title :?:

Make sure the Air passage is Clear through the mouth piece.
Someone actually got a device with the hole completely obstructed.

Remove base, blow through mouth piece.
Visually inspect.
Remove Coil assembly and check for obstruction.
Test tank Assembled off the Device
If tight off the device, something is blocked.
Change coil - if still tight, you eliminated 1 suspect area.

I use a plastic sleeve around the base of my ProTank coil to tighten draw and it is still decent.

So far as I can tell, both my ProTanks are legit. The one that doesn't work I did try nekkid, not attached to the battery. It did have air flow going through. I also tried it on the battery, without the beauty ring ... nothing. So, like someone did suggest, it would appear to me that something, perhaps the airholes, are blocked when I put it on the battery. One of these days I will check it out. I think the next thing I try will be putting the base from the one that works onto the one that doesn't and see what happens. Process of elimination, right?

Now I finally see what everyone's talking about when I read how airy the ProTank is. I don't dislike it. I've been using a Vivi Nova for a few weeks now. What a difference when compared to the ProTank!
