just got my provari and OCD tank with some cartos last night. got it all set up and it was awesome last night. vaped on it for a good 8 hours or so. i loved how the draw on it was a little airy like my protank. got up this morning and refilled the tank before heading off to class, and now the draw on it is significantly tighter. i want the air back! :( lol still hitting and tasting fine, but i want that more airy draw i had last night. any suggestions? surely it cant be time to change the carto already. my juice is really light and almost clear in color. but this is my first experience with cartos.. i also have a hippo cap on the way and i know they have adjustable airflow in them. will that make my draw more airy or will it just tighten it up if i want?

Very small/ tiny scissors- take one "blade" and stick it in the carto airhole on the battery end- twist and turn until it's larger. Afterwards blow out carto from drip tip end with finger over the carto batt end (cleans out metal shavings). If not airy enuff try the same on the remaining carto airhole.

can i do this after the carto has been primed with juice?

would a carto punch tool help in making the existing holes bigger?

Carto punch is for inside the tank, air inlets are outside.

I think you just have a clog. If you can't blow easily thru it, ( off the BAttery) that's it then. Paperclip thru the carto, then blow out.

hold the carto up to the light. if you cant see through the hole, a paperclip can be used to open up the passage. stick it through and roll the carto until its opened up. some cartos are just weak, and seem to collapse when the juice saturates the filler. you can use a dremel to open up the airhole above the threads, but be careful. its pretty easy to damage the post and/or coil wires depending on how the carto is made.

this worked! thanks a bunch. does this happen a lot? new to cartos. kind of annoying.. i'm assuming it would happen less with better cartos? everyone recommends boge so im gonna try those next. i just got a few of the cartos IBTanked sells when i bought my tank from them.

i have only dealt with 3 brands of cartos so far. boge, S.T. and the ones that fastech sells with the bootleg x9 tanks. i can only say that it happens occasionally on all of them, but less on the boges from my experience . seems like the filler material is a bit denser in them, than the other two. downside is, the boges take slightly longer to fill initially. once they are wet, they seem to soak up liquid just fine.

Cartos annoyed me too much. I still use them VERY occasionally but I switched to clearomizers and tanks. Not sure how much you should listen to me though, I'm only a month and a half into this venture! Smoke free the whole way though and 110% addicted to vaping now BUT I have cut my nicotine in half already!

2 Things happen with Carto's that restrict air flow.

    1) e-liquid residue starts to cake up around the coil which sits in the Air Channel - This restricts and eventually stops air flow.
The Darker the e-liquid or the sweeter, the faster this can happen. Carto's are Disposable Items and can last from a day or so to a few weeks dependent on conditions of use.

    2) Wicking can build up Liquid in the air passage running through the Carto while sitting not in use.
    Two simple fixes work well.
    a) Fill Carto Tank before leaving sit over night. Eliminating Air inside the Tank can stop expansion that pushes liquid into the carto.
    b) On an partially empty tank - Remove from Device. Wipe connector with tissue. Holding tank upright, blow lightly UP through Connection end.
This drives e-liquid out of the channel without emptying the Carto. Attach to Device and take a few Long light draws to vaporize any remaining liquid in the channel without drawing excessive liquid from tank.

It is all in learning what is happening and getting used to preventing or correcting.:)
