Are you sure that the head doesn't need replacing?
I notice that when this happens on my Protanks then the draw is considerably tighter than it once was.

No. It's brand new. And I have tried two different heads already, thinking maybe a punk head was the problem. When I compare the one that works against the one that doesn't work, the functioning tank clearly has three holes in it and the other has none.

I can flat mount the Protank on certain APV's and kill the draw....because I've blocked most of the air flow. A quarter turn, and Shazham! it works like a fan. If you are not getting enough air, and assuming this is legit, and not tongue in cheek, then you have either a defective Protank without three air holes, or one or more are blocked, or there's an obstruction between the connection and the air tube. The airiness of the Protank is well established, and I have gotten used to it, I suppose, preferring the draw of the sister evod, and using the evod coils in the Protank. Additionally, adding an airflow controller works very well too:

Tank Airflow Controller

Finally, every piece of the Protank can be inexpensively replaced, i.e., the tank, base and coil, and often for less than the initial cost (sans beauty ring). Tanks:

Kanger Protank Top Only (now out of stock, but these started at $.99, then $2.99, then 3.99, then 4.99 and still couldn't keep them in stock). Base (also out of stock - $2.00):

Kanger ProTank Base Replacement

Protank heads can be purchased in packs of five at about 90 cents each. So, Tank at $5.00, base at $2.00, and coil at $1.00 provides a Protank at $8.00 plus shipping. A wee bit less than the $12 - $25 that vendors sell these at. My :2c:.

Alright sorry I am getting back to this post very late. First off let me answer to what I have the Protank connected to, I used a Vision spinner and a K100. Before I bought the Protank I too was told it was VERY airy. To my assumption I thought that the statement was made in comparison to modded or unmodded rebuildable atty's, and not a carto tank. It is airy compared to carto tanks... I thought I was going to be able to get the protank to be as airy as some of my rebuildable atty's, or even a stock rebuildable such as a A7 or IGO-L.

What I did to modify the protank which in turn gave me something close to what I was hoping for...

I drilled the "beauty ring" with four 1/16, I also drilled the base where there are three existing holes and made those bigger while also adding another three holes also using the 1/16 drill bit. WAY BETTER!

That mod is going to last about 3 seconds(after you drop your mod) the time to reach the floor. The 510 threading is already weak and has broken on many tanks. You just increased the odds 10 fold.

Apparently the weak threads have been addressed with the new redesign. Looks like they listened to all the complaints of an airy draw, too, as the redesign has addressed that, too. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/440551-kanger-protank-redesign.html
