I bought my e cig a few days ago from a smoke shop, and it just has not been hitting properly since I got the thing.

For about 10-15 minutes, it hits okay, but then the smoke gets incredibly stale and I feel like I need to refill it already. So, something doesn't seem right.

Equipment: SmokTech Dual Coil Cartomizer (not the tank)
Vision Spinner Adjustable Voltage Battery

I am wondering if when I started this cartomizer off, I did something wrong, or when I refill it, if I am not doing something properly. It is just not hitting the way it did in the store.

I have included a picture of my current set-up as well. Please help me out, otherwise I fear that I will have to return this and go back to Green Smoke e-cigarettes.

How are you filling it and what's the PG/VG ratio?

Don't give up! It's probably user error (sorry!), but even if there is something wrong with your cartomizer, there a hundred different atomizers you can use with your battery.

Also, remember that cartomizers are disposable. At best you'll get maybe two weeks out of one.

Hi Blind Guy. Sorry you are having this issue. It would help to know what ohm load carto you have and what voltage setting you are set to on the spinner.

Im going to assume you can look down the barrel of the carto, so do so now. If it looks wet(kind of like slushy snow) at the top of the filler then you have an equipment mismatch or issue that I can't forsee right away. If it looks dry(like the innards of a pillow) then its too dry and needs to be topped off. Topping off is easy. I hold the device at an angle (~45degrees) and drip down the sides of the carto onto the lowest point inside the carto, one drop at a time until the whole top looks moist. As the cartomizer begins to fill you will notice the drops no longer going down, they will begin to soak upward toward the high side of the carto. Once the high side is saturated the carto is full and can be vaped nearly immediately.

I do believe the XL smoketech cartos hold near 40 drops of liquid(~1.8ml) and if your first fill was not near this much, underfilling is your likely culprit for the current performance (or lack therof). If you know for certain what you tried in the store was a dual coil on a spinner then you should be able to reliably duplicate that experience on the same equipment at the same voltage with the same liquid. If you have any other questions, fire away. We will be here to try to help. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

E cig.jpgThanks for the quick response!

The carto I'm not sure how large it is, how exactly can i tell?

I have attached the picture of my setup to this post, sorry it wouldn't upload on the last one.

And my juice, I am using a Digital Ciggz blend.

To fill it, he had me put about 10 drops in it, then shake it up, then 10 more, up to maybe about 30-40 total drops of juice. And no, I did not really wait... i just started toking on it right away.

ahhh how do you use the

i am filling it by dropping about 10 drops into it, but I'm not certain that I started by correctly filling the carto in the first place to the right level. so i am considering starting fresh with a new carto...

so how many drops would you say i should put in to get the carto started? and then to refill it? I submitted a picture for you guys to see my setup.

And I don't know how to find out how many ohms I am working with.

Sorry guys, but I am new to all of this LOL

You should probably get at least 20, maybe even 30 or more depending if its an XL or regular size carto, the first fill, so yeah I think you didn't fill it to capacity the first time around. No worries though, just fill it as much as it will absorb and it should be fine. As the poster(s) above said, you'll know when it is full when the drops no longer wick downward and it seems as if one more drop will spill into the hole in the center where the air and vapor draws through.

Another tip might be to fill it till YOU think it's full then shake it with the bottom condem on like you would an old thermometer. Shake like crazy and then fill again. Shake again, repeat untill no more juice goes in. And yes with just the carto you will have to refill often. IMHO. And welcome to ECF.

If you're visually impaired, then I would suggest you grab a clearomizer because it would be easier for you to know when it's full. The Vision Vivi Nova is probably the most popular right now, but you could also look for the T2, T3, CE4/CE5/Stardust or the Splitfire.

No neex to return your battery though.
