I've reached a serious predicament. I really want to try quitting analogs. I had 4 months off previously, in which i used vaping down to 0mg liquid and then stopping to effectively quit. I'm finding it much harder this time... No matter what i do. I mean, thanks to vaping i have cut back a lot, but i want OFF. No more analogs, not now, not ever. I'm looking for some member's experience and strength to help me light that fire under my ..... I've already had to have part of my stomach removed, partially aggravated by smoking (among other poor lifestyle choices). I don't want to do this anymore. Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Thank you all.

So, you lost a part of your stomach. Isn't that enough of a reason for you to quit? If you really want to quit than you have the willpower to do so. Keep reminding yourself it's because of cigarettes that you lost a piece of yourself. Do that to the point to where you hate cigarettes and everything that it has done to you.

Quitting cigs is a goal for many of us, including you. The difference is how bad do you actually want to make that move. Like I said in another thread. vaping isn't all that much different from smoking. Get either some 24-36mg nicotine and vape your head off. Until you kill the urge.

Even if you think you want a cig. Immediately start vaping until that urge has subsided. That's the way that I did it and money should not be a concern. Because your going to be going through a lot of juice until your over the initial stress of quitting.

After that, you should naturally slow down and if you don't. It's not an issue as long as you don't smoke a cig. Hope that helps.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself. That'll just drive you back to smokes more. Maybe you're trying too much at once? Are you doing 0 mg juice again? You may need some nice after all. There are 600 ingredients in cigs plus 4,000 chemicals from burning. You may be missing some of that.

Vape every time you think of smoking. That's what I do. Keep the cancer sticks out of sight. And if you must have one, take a few puffs and put it out. No need to smoke the whole thing. You may not even find it good tasting anymore.

And every time you think about it, remember your own words here -

...i want OFF. No more analogs, not now, not ever...

Good luck and come back for more support. A good bunch here.

Dude/Dudess, if the first quote doesn't answer your question, then go with the second quote and lose your .... also! Sorry, you have reached a point that I feared for myself for so long... until I found vaping.

I won't and can't baby ya when the solution is obvious to you and obviously within your reach. Noper, no diapers from Iffy!

I'll be chastised by some of the membership here, but they can't do for you what you need to do for yourself. How's that for a fire under your azz?!?!

My Friend, you are right where I was in February/March of this year. I found E-cigs and I have never looked back. I owe that to the school of hard knocks I went through at the ECig Store I went to in Panama City for being brutally honest with me from the start and also hooking me up with a device that hit every nerve ending in me that craved cigarettes with a nicotine level that matched my smoking level.

YOU are the only one that can make this switch. I know this much, I ran a 13 second 100 yard dash in high school and a 9 1/2 minute Mile and a Half my first 4 years in the Navy, last year I ran a mile and a half in 13 minutes 45 seconds, for a person who has loved running their whole life that is pathetic. I looked myself in the eyes in the mirror while in a barracks room in Panama city Florida and Swore to myself that I was going to Quit with these devices this time and never turn back. That was over six months ago and with the support of all of my friends here, (as well as the occasional swift kick to the britches), and the overwhelming support from the Southern California Vapers Community and the E-Cig City Store owner I can honestly say that cigarettes make me sick to my stomach now just smelling them. I picked up a shipmate from the base today and I almost threw up on him when he got in my car so I hosed him down with air freshener to try and cover up the stench and he is sitting in my living room talking to his girl back home right now, vaping on one of my old Ego-T's.

There is all the support in the world here on ECF, all you have to do is make that commitment to yourself;

Listen I was in a similar predicament to yours.
I smoked for 37 years and had already had a lobe of my lung removed, open heart surgery
and all the crap that goes along with it. I didn't really want to quit but I knew that since I could not even walk my beloved Dalmatian or walk up the stairs, I had to try to quit again.
I had used patches, hypnosis and all the other junk that never worked for me time and time again and all it ever got me was to spend more money on useless products plus 2 1/2 packs of cigs per day. I finally saw a friend using a wetbox and I thought he was using an herbal substitute but he told me about how he had quit cigarettes for good through vaping and I said "oh man I gotta try this"!
As I said I never wanted to quit but to my utter surprise in two days I had only a few puffs and it tasted so bad I couldn't stomach the taste anymore. In three days I had only had a couple {3} analogues and I was finished smoking forever! I got my taste back, blood flow to my limbs and my sense of smell thank God!
More importantly for me it truly restored my health.
I didn't really have any kind of health before I started vaping, hadn't for many many years but I was able to toss out all my inhalers, steroids and pills for my "allegedly diagnosed"
COPD/Asthma/Bronchitis and my lung function tests were back to normal levels which I had never had before or at least since I was fifteen.
You need to do this for yourself and for your family as well.
They don't want to see you suffering any more than I do kiddo!
It has now been about 10 months since I've had a cigarette and I've only had one cigar in all that time.

Thanks for the words guys. This won't be the first destructive habit i've knocked, by far. I just have to remember that i have you guys, my sponsor, my friends (the ones that don't smoke) and my entire support roup behind me. I just need that swift kick for some truth some times. I just threw my pack out! I get my shipment of 25 cartos soon, so i get to ditch the dead one in my mod that's killing my vaping pleasure.

I too need that fire under my rear. I quit for almost one month, which is nothing. I then got flooded by Irene, and now am staying with a two-pack per day smoker (ugh).
I used to smoke a pack a day, and thanks to vaping I haven't bought a pack since Aug 11th. So it has saved me money, but my health is still questionable. Cigs are readily available for bumming from my roomate, and I can't kick the 2-3 per day that I'm at. I'm hoping that in addition to my current 808, that a VV might help me kick it completely.

I just find the cravings for the FEEL of a cig, not the flavor. I cant stand the taste/smell. I usually hit my ecig after an analog to get the nasty ash taste out.. But i wanna get rid of analogs compleeeetely.

:(

Don't be in a hurry to cut back on the nic. Wait untill you are at a point where you Know you never want another cigarette.
This is truth. I tried cutting back too quick the first time and I think that's why I ened up going back to analogs. I'm not in any rush to cut back this time around. I like vaping and I like the nic strength that I use. I'm not getting all the crap from analogs so I'm not stressing about having to cut it back.

Also, find a particularly strong flavor that helps take the edge off when you really feel like you need an analog. I've got a strong coffee flavor that takes the edge off for me every time. Even though my all day vape is Swedish Fish, this coffee mix of mine gets it done when the Fish ain't cutting it.

Quiting is as easy as just stopping,Tell yourself i am stopping and believe it and it will come true.I have also had very difficult things to stop and if i could stop that you can stop analogs. If you tell your self iv stoped then there is no choice involved in even having one or giving in to a craving its all in your mind so be the one in control of your body and mind.Stopping means just that, its a commitment.Tell yourself that this is your last analog and believe it then even when you crave a analog you have already made the choice that, that was your last and you can move on.Stopping is easy, having the will power to say no to yourself is the only hard part, and once you realize that you have the power anything possible.

It is not a good idea to use the patch if you are smoking ecigs as well. The patch is awesome for quitting, because it gives you a huge nic buzz. (It's how I quit the first time). But, You will most definitly od, if you use the patch and ecigs simultaneously. I promise!! I couldn't even smoke an analog while on the patch without almost puking... Following the program to the letter is a must, and I completely agree, drinking is nasty!! You dont need to Vaping outweighs drinking anyday.

It's been close to 18 months without even a beer, let alone any mind or mood altering substance. Now as soon as i kick smokes and caffeine, i'll be all natural

You will feel like a new person, as I am sure you already do! How is seeing things clearly for once!! Good for you! Everyone hurts, and everyone copes.. Drinking will f your life up, and make you hurt the worst.. (ya know). I am up to two energy drink a day, plus other caffinated bevs.. I am trying to cut those too. Drinking tea reallly helps and it's loaded with natural healers that have been used for centuries, not to mention the LOADS of anti-oxidants.

Make sure you are doing these things because you want to not for your doctors or anyone else.
The patch doesn't work very well and you shouldn't use it if you are still smoking and/or vaping in any combination.
I'm not sure anyone can attain an "all natural" point since everything you eat ,drink and breathe contains chemicals therefore making being "all natural" an impossibility imo! :D
I don't think you have anything to fear from using caffeine in a moderate amounts nor nicotine.

Studies by the FDA in 1987 have concluded that; "studies on teratology, reproduction behavior, carcinogenicity, and cardiovascular disease...but found no evidence to show that the use of caffeine in carbonated beverages would render theses beverages injurious to health."
This is from the AMA
The American Medical Association has examined the research on caffeine and came to a similarly confident position on its safety. A 1984 report from AMA Council on Scientific Affairs stated, " Moderate tea or coffee drinkers probably need have no concern for their health relative to their caffeine consumption provided other lifestyle habits (diet, alcohol consumption) are moderate, as well." (Ref.: International Food Information Council).
Even though you may cut out everything you think can be harmful from your diet or life there is no guarantee that you will be disease free. Not trying to depress you just saying I've had friends who went to extremes cutting out all fat caffeine, nicotine etc. and still were unhappy and didn't really have a fulfilling life they were just existing.
My sincere best wishes to you in achieving all your goals!
Congratulations on being drink and drug free for 18 months!

Smoking certainly isn't rational - it killed both my parents, my father-in-law, and a number of friends. That didn't stop me. I was lucky and was able to put down the cigs a few days after I got my first e-cig kit. I found that the further I pushed that first cigarette of the day off, the easier it got. One day I just never got around to lighting up. I carried cigarettes around with me for a while, as I didn't want to feel panicked. You have to get to the point where you can look at them and say "Nah" - they'll always be around to tempt you, at a party, the office, a gas station, etc. I hope you will get to that point, at whatever pace works for you. Meanwhile, every cigarette you avoid is a victory for you. Best of luck!
