Regardless of any delays or hiccups lets not lose sight of fact that way Innokin and ECF are doing here is huge!!! Ave lets take a moment to shine a positive light on them for doing all this!!!

Umm 400 prizes is a pretty small price for the massive amount of advertising they got in return. Or are you saying they are just giving things away to be nice?

They still don't owe us a darn thing. They could be raffling off discount coupons and I'd bet people would be just as excited and it would cost them far less.

It was totally a PR move, but I'm still thankful that I'm getting a $50+ mod for free (especially now when I have no VV/VW mod and can't afford to buy ANYTHING), even if hiccups cause them to take an extra week or so to send it out to me. I admit, maybe they didn't do so hot on planning the logistics. It probably would've been better if they had said "Contest ends on August 12" and left it at that, instead of "Winners will be announced on August 12." But it is what it is, and I'm still grateful.

Well, they gave away 10 of the 400 to the first 10 to sign up. Then they did 4 "quick draw" giveaways in the thread, 10 each time. So there are still 350 that will be drawn from the website where we registered.

Thanks for clarification. Thread is way big and I spend most of my time trying to answer issues in other sub-forums. Have only been able to pop in here a bit in recent days.

Best of Luck to everyone!

No I will not be one of the upset if not a winner. Just got a new TC a few days ago and have plenty to keep me happy for a while.:)

Agreed. Nothing wrong with a PR campaign btw, this is capitalism at its finest. And if people can benefit from it, even better. But a givaway this is not. :)

Wish I had that problem. Then again, not during our winters... I would like to find a place to live where, outside, the temperature is +35F at the lowest and +75F at the highest. When I was younger, my range seemed to be OK from -20 to +120F, but now various body parts hurt too much in the extreme temperatures. We keep the computers down here in the dungeon and the current temperature next to this computer is +81F at 61% RH and this is the coolest place in the house.
Still has to be cooler there than in Texas. We are looking at 104 degree days and no breeze. We will be heading up there around Labor Day, I'm really hoping it's cooler.

Yes, they are getting advertising out of this, but when you look at the numbers, they are infact being nice.

They are giving away well over 400 new to the market mods if you look at all the contests they have going on between fb and other social media.

Many of the people who win would have been the ones who buy things as soon as they come out, that equals loss of sales for them.

They also risk the problems of the first run of any mod. While they have a very good track record, if there were to be any sort of mass problems from the first run of the new device they have a whole lot of people who will know of it, risking their reputations in the long run.

So when you weight the risks against the gains, this is way more than just a bit of cheap advertising.

How is it not a giveaway? The people that win aren't paying a single red cent for their item. It may be a PR campaign, but it is still a giveaway. Ask any of the winners of they paid anything, see what they say.

Oh and a chance to win...

With that being said. This (giveaway) is awesome on all sorts of levels. So winner or not, it's been a blast to be part of it. I love most all of the comments. You guys are pretty chill!

On a side note. When a company does giveaways, it boost business for all involved and there are tax incentives. Businesses can write anything they giveaway off on their tax returns.

Just think of the logistics involved.
Every person that entered with their name and email address has to be issued a unique number. Once you do that you have to run your random number generator. Once the first fifty numbers are selected you have to go find the name attached to that number. Since earlier winner are excluded, somehow you have to cross check the provided email to see if it matches a ECF user. Now you have to see if that user has won. it gets harder as more winners are selected unless you reissue new numbers each round so you can put 1 to however many in the random number generator.
Well said race... And it's just a contest,,, your going to lose a hundred to win one, be happy they are doing such a great contest... Win or lose they are the only large company to date do such a complicated contest... Thank you again Innokin

Again, they are in Europe. They have thousands of entries. 400 to giveaway is amazing. How many other contests do you see a chance to win 1 of 400? That's a lot of possibilities of winning. Sheesh, if I had that chance in the casino, I'd being going there daily. (then later, gamblers anonymous)

How is 400 prizes a small amount? That's alot of money coming out of the company for campaigning
