I am back home from our short but sweet wedding at the court house. The judge did such a good job. We do not have a honeymoon planned yet, but we had a great day together today, and are now playing a game together :) I know ....what nerds! Lol We have been together so long, and we have felt married for a while now. I appreciate everyone's thoughtful comments :) We had a wonderful day together!

But of course! And you can borrow it anytime you've got to deal with trolls or whining people lol
Lol...needed one this morning...RUDE children who probably drive monster trucks to overcompensate for "short"comings elsewhere in their lives...snort.....

Jode - I believe the 'newbie' is thinking you were the original poster saying they were new - not the experienced/long time member you are - then he changed his user name and it looks like there's 2 people saying same thing (grin) - he'll figure out how it all works on ECF eventually, like the rest of us! haha (tho I doubt his newness if he joined back in 2011 !)

Ok thanks Nancy. I really didn't know what to make of it. I wasn't quoted just tagged so I wanted to make sure I didn't say something I shouldn't have. I'm not gonna worry over it then :p

He is a black brindle, they run a little smaller than the blues. About 150lbs and fairly skinny. At show weight, most of them are very obease. But they put weight on in their face and jowels before it goes anywhere else.

I remember seeing a picture of one that reportedly weighed over 200 pounds, and he didn't LOOK fat to me. He positively dwarfed his human!

I know, right? Especially if there's any "booming" going on (thunderstorms, hunting, varmint-whacking...) they'll try to climb right in your lap! They ALL seem to be afraid of loud noises, but Rich had a theory about that, and I think he's probably right. Where they're from originally (snow-covered mountains), maybe they instinctively fear booming because it might mean an imminent avalanche. Some kind of "race memory" that's been bred into them over time. It seems to make sense to ME, anyway!

It's a good theory. It is so interesting how breeds have so much instinct in them from their ancestors. I have always had Golden's and I've always been interested in how their breeding has influenced their nature so much. A perfect mix of insane energy with enough obedience to take anywhere.

Yesterday I had to take my husbands kitty in to the vet. He had bone cancer in his bottom jaw bone. Poor thing couldn't eat anymore, stopped eating 3 days prior.
Called the vets office and told them I needed to come in to have our kitty of 10 years put to sleep, the office said you need an appointment and there are no openings today, I told her the vet told me to just come on in when the time was right. How can you make an appointment with death?
I tell ya, I couldn't leave there without shedding a few tears.
So needless to say I could use some good vibes today...
I have been away most of the day tending to real life and skimming through the 11 pages I missed I had to stop and reply to this.

Diabolique, I am so sorry for your loss. Loosing a pet is harder than some people realize. I hope you can put this into a place in your heart where it will be safe forever. Gone from your life but never from your heart. Godspeed kitty.

The blues and mahogonys get over 200lbs, I've seen them close to 300. But they will carry 60+ extra lbs in the face and neck before they start to look fat.

At my age, I think I'm done with the "insane energy" part. I get too tired chasing after them, or trying to keep them entertained. I like the Pyrs. When they're working, they're working, and when they're not, they're sleeping. ;)

He was mad. This dog hates having his picture taken. I got him because the breeder wanted to put him down. The white toes and white on his nose isn't "right" for show dogs, and he didn't want him registered to the sire. I couldn't let that happen, so I got him.

Oh dear god dont even get me started on septic systems. When we bought our house, we did a lot of renovations to it. Living in a very rural area as we do, lets just say some of the drains weren't going to where they were supposed to, mainly shower and sink. We went to work and tied them all into the septic system. Fast forward about 6 years, all the sudden we have sewage seeping up below our house. Well upon examination we find out we dont actually have a septic system, everything was going into what is called a dry well, and it was full. So a crap ton of money had to be spent to put an actual system in. Not fun, and dont even get me started on what we found when they dug the hole for the tank.

Ok, I won't mention septic systems again in this contest thread. (ya never know what a simple jibe will start ! LOL) A new system to replace the old will be about $8,000 outa our pocket - should I add, to start with?????
