The vape industry is moving so rapidly and in so many amazing directions I cannot even guess what the next big thing will be. I know that for my hubby sake I would love to see innovation and increased availability of products like the Heatvape Invader mini...and maybe tanks as durable as it is but with the flavor and ease of his Herakles tank. There are lots of pipeline guys moving to vape but the job is murder for their gear

I think innovation in vaping is going in the direction of both convenience and ergonomics. Vapers, especially new vapers, like to keep it simple and I see vaping innovation heading in that direction. Safer USB charging with no need for external batteries or chargers, even more intuitive and easy to use user interfaces, coils that last longer and are easier to change, tanks that are easier to fill and clean, etc. I believe simplicity can go a long way for new and experienced vape enthusiasts alike. The less time the user has to spend fiddling with wire, cotton, and tweaking the devices to work properly, the more time that person can spend doing other things and just enjoy their vaping experience. Ease-of-use can go a long way!

Secondly, I think as technology in the vaping industry gets better I believe ergonomics and "size matters" will become more at the forefront in vaper's minds when they go to make a purchase. Something that fits well in the pocket that doesn't feel like a brick, something that feels good in the hand and has a solid durable finish. As time goes on and the playing field levels in terms of the inner-workings of these e-cigarettes, the outside and form/design will become even more important. Although these smaller devices with ergonomics in mind already exist, they'll continue to advance and become better and better. I look forward to technology reaching a point where smaller, yet highly powerful vaporizers can be in any shape the user wants, I think something like a pistol grip would be pretty ideal myself in terms of comfort in the hand. Thank you very much @Innokin_Ash, @Innokin_Joseph and all the other great folks at Innokin for this quick-fire giveaway, I could really use one of those bad boys! I really appreciate the chance!

Next innovation big innovation in vaping? I think that tanks and wicking materials are the where there is a huge opportunity to improve. The perfect example is the iSub and iSub G tanks. Great tanks, hindered only by the availability of different resistance ohms. These tanks would rock if they had something in ceramic wicks and/or lower and higher resistance. I'd love to have an iSub with a 0.2 ohm coil for home "clouding" and with a 1.2 or 1.5 ohm coil for a more stealthy vape at work.

Utsuru I LOVE your ideas! Ergonomics is huge, and not all hands are the same.

I was also thinking that with egonomics/shapes, batteries will need to be redesigned, too. I would love to see button-sized batteries take the place of the cells we use now. Of course right now that means much shorter battery life, hence the advancement in battery wish. :)

I think ease of maintenance will be important. Too fill a tank now usually requires that it be taken off the mod, unscrewed, etc. An easy way to fill from the top, that doesn't require too much dis-assembly or a tool, would be helpful and well-received--particularly if the method becomes a "standard."

A completely waterproof device ... no more worries you might drop your favourite 'shiny' in the swimming pool.
OR...

Your mod spoke to you, telling you when the coil needed replacing or the battery charging, etc., you could have your favourite celebs voice. :w00t:

Let me just mention something really simple that I think would vastly improve the mods and tanks currently on the market - get rid of the 510 connection and come up with something better and more stable. Mods and tanks would last a lot longer because you wouldn't constantly be getting stripped threads from all the times you remove a tank to fill it.

I think the future of vaping will be about customizing your personal vaporizer to make it your own.....engraving is a great start along with size ..... Big box mods are to big for some hands so I think they will shrink in size or at least come in different sizes. They will have custom buttons and hook up to your phone to program. They will also be made out of different materials and finishes ..... Like pipes you will have a wide variety of forms and different woods from expensive to not so expensive.

The big difference in vaping will come from the juices and tanks. Juices will be made with a lot more natural ingredients and maybe even some vitamins added. The tanks will be fancier and customizable also and able to accept a variety of coils in one tank to give you different types of vapes. Diy juices will have small juice makers with measurements visible ..... A push of a button and all the flavors will be mixed.

of course I wish they all came with a little man to maintain them and fill em up!!!!

"What do you think the next big innovation in vaping will be?"

Really had to think about this, especially given that innovation would mean so many different things to just as many people . . . However, given how things have developed over the past few years to meet the "Wants" of many people who have Transition into the Vaping World already . . . IMO - The next big innovation to the Vaping World would/should be something that would replace the convenience to get, ease, and use of a pack of Cigarettes once and for all, including the general masses and not be as difficult as it has been for so many like "Me" . . .

A Personal "Vaping Assistant" . . . :)

The "Vaping Assistant" would make sure "You" have everything "You" NEED ready at all times . . . Batteries/APV that are ready to go and never ever NEED to recharged for hours; Making sure that Equipment was fully tested and worked before coming on to the market; Cartomizers/Tanks that never ever need to be cleaned or refilled - nor have to have rebuild coils built for them, and/or last but not least, would get everything free of charge (or possibly as inexpensively priced as possible) . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Now - In all honesty, when I started on the Transition into the Vaping World, all I ever wanted to do was find something that would be easy enough to replace going into a store to purchase to satisfy "My" Addiction as I would a pack/carton of cigarettes . . . I wasn't and still am not looking for "Stuff" that is complicated to use - nor would take over "My" life as much as smoking cigarettes . . . However, that was not what happened . . . :(

I'm now using KR808D-1/1100-1300 Style Batteries/APV/MOD'S/Box Mod's/"Self-contained" Units ("E-Liquid" Tank Within), including a variety of Cartomizer/Cartomizer Tanks/Tanks . . . AND - Thankfully, I am not a 'Cloud Chaser" - nor I have gotten into, nor even want to, RBA/RDA . . .

So - While I am still a "Dual user" for now - I am totally a "TOOTLE PUFFER" and Proud of it . . . ;)

Given this - I really hope the next major innovation in vaping will be something that meets and keeps in mind a "Tootle Puffer's" NEEDS . . .
giving-thumbs-up-winking-smiley-emoticon.gif

EDIT: BTW - Sometimes getting back to the basics to develop them further and function better is the most innovate idea . . . "Build a Better Mouse Trap, and the world will beat a path to your door" . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Oohh ... so glad I clicked on this thread. I suspect that in a decade, the state of vaping will be almost unrecognizable. Think of how far things have progressed just in the past few years.

For starters, I think the days of untold hundreds of vendors all cranking out the same flavors using the same store-bought flavorings will be over. I think the vaping market will see a more stark split between the entry-level stuff, which will be almost entirely driven by big tobacco, and designer-type pieces. Boutique lines - both for hardware and juice - will continue to hold a market share, but the mediocre will have long-since been pushed aside, and only the truly worthy will stand. I can foresee a future in which a vendor features a single juice blend, rather than bragging about 100+ cookie-cutter juices. Vapers will learn that more flavors does not equal better quality.

As for hardware, I don't see the trend of higher wattage/lower ohms continuing. At some point, it becomes impractical. I think that tanks will soon catch up with drippers in overall performance and profile, and ease of use will one day send the dripper the way of the mech mod (how fast did that happen?!?) Truth be told, the hardware of a decade from now will likely have taken completely new roads. Anyone really think we'll still be wrapping kanthal and stuffing rayon or organic cotton inside it a decade from now? I don't. In fact, I imagine we'll all find the idea rather amusing. Whether it's ceramics or whatever ... something new will take over. And then something new after that.

Of course, the great unknown is regulation. If that happens on any large scale, all bets are off. In that case, we may all be secretly ordering kanthal direct from China and extracting our own tobacco/nic from store-bought cigars and pipe tobacco. ;)

I'm fairly new to vaping...so on my limited journey and having only a few things, I would like to see a battery that lasts for days and is very durable, built strong. The battery I have right now, I'm a little scared of, which is the istick 50 that is known to have problems...so a battery that has long charge time, and will last.

Mods have been getting more durable and a few are slightly water resistant. I'm expecting to see something that is truly waterproof - both mod and tank.

I've just heard confirmation that the previous winners winnings will be shipped out directly from our factory next week!

Intentional reverse order of quotes none the less: I'm sure those people are elated and jumping in their tracks at hearing the good news their prizes are on the way! promptly and swiftly I might add! The way to go! Innokin :toast::headbang:

@Night Hawk It's nice to hear that you've supported the guys at Vape A Vet. We sponsor them, they do some great work!

Gallery | Vape A Vet

It's certainly a worthwhile cause to support! I can appreciate Innokin's willingness to step upto the plate and chip in for something worth the effort!

When we hear of groups like M.O.V.E. where the medical community particularly Cardiovascular specialists are advocating for other meidcal professionals to be enlightened on just what ecigs and vaping is all about and the serious health benefits for those who switch from smoke are despite what Big Pharma wants as well as the other Big $$$ interests why shouldn't we offer a helping hand to those who serve? When first seeing an Amazon prompting for smile.amazon I was taken at first sight when they asked which charity I wanted to see donations go to and right then spotted that for the first time.
