Checking in…we're ok and so is our property. Those two large live oaks I was so worried about falling on the house are still a big concern. Our arborist said to keep a close eye on them until he can take them down… due to last spring's drought and last night's battering they can be weakened and still fall with a strong gust of wind. In fact he said everyone should be aware of that about trees on their properties.

We lost power around 4am so running the gennie. Electric company says could be a week.

I hope everyone made it ok :wub::wub:

It's going to be okay Bea... it's going to be okay.

In the end, stuff is just stuff, houses can be repaired, stuff can be replaced. People will take care of each other.

It will be okay.

Stay safe everyone. The prayers of the nation are with you.
Thanks, I needed that. :wub::wub::wub:

well...on a humorous note...

My good hearted self went out to the screen room with a stiff piece of junk mail to slide under the dish to take the snake outside and send it sailing.

IT'S GONE !!!!!!

So glad you didn't have to pick it up, but where did it go?

Checking in from NC. Daughter & sil are with us along with our dogs, Abby & Gussy. We're staying until ???
Peter's sister is in the hospital here so our destination was obvious to us.
Praying all my fellow Floridians stay safe.

Will check in periodically. Love you all!!

Glad you're safe. Hope your house is ok. Any chance of contacting any neighbors that stayed to check on it?

That's fantastic! Think I would have done the same.

Yay for the oaks! It would be a shame to cut them down, but I sure do appreciate your concern! It's a new day and you're safe! I hope your elec comes back on sooner than predicted.

Glad to see so many of you fared well. Hope y'all catchin' up on needed sleep and rest for those tired nerves.

My internet finally restored! Actually fell asleep exhausted after the last waterspout 'round 4 and lost comm sometime after 6 yesterday. After a whole storm and countless electrical blips a short one brought our complex multi-building net down. Didn't reboot, requiring system reset this a.m. And naturally, my ATT connect went sketch. Shades of Omega Man with a few wandering breathing souls in this ghost town.

We had high sustained of 59mph here in Hlwd and wind gusts clearly over 100 (street lights go horiz). Structures environment and beach did well here. Lots of foliage debris and thankfully the intra-coastal did not breach.

My prayers for all of you who are struggling out there with the aftermath.

Good luck. :)

@Iffy - how are you? Check in please when you can....
Iffy says he made it through as did Doree and I. We are fine. No major damage other than the huge tree behind the house going diwn Don't know if Iffy suffered much damage but, i do know that they are okay.

Glad to see everyone checking in.
Collier County Sheriff posted this flyover Everglade City from around 8 a.m. :(
They were under mandatory evacuation. I hope they did.
Chokoloskee Island is about 3 miles W from there.
This area is around 60 miles (ish) N of Key West, Gulf side.

Not as bad as Matthew. But not good either.
Wow. Hope it recedes quickly so you can move into clean phase. Hope there is lots of help for you. I heard The Cajun Navy is on their way there. They were great here!
