I need to get some powrr packs. Which would you recommend?

Sent from my LG-V700 using Tapatalk

Thanks for letting us know.

You might check with @Two_Bears. He recommends a couple that he has been using and I believe has reviewed.

My top two recommended battery packs are

Mugenter 10,000 mah
Poweradd 20,000 mah

Other good ones

Kmashi 10,000 mah
Kmashi 11,200 mah
Kmashi 20,000 mah
Nationite 10,400 mah

If i was forced to recommend just one it would be the Poweradd 20,000 i have four of them.

Here is two i recommend. People avoid.

Tohlo 20,000 mah i had two of them and both had issues.

#1 only held 8,700 mah
#2 held 18,000+ mah but one of the charging ports was DOA.

The other is the Imuto 20,000 mah. This one has two problems

#1. The power button is only 4x10 mm and flush with surrounding area so pressing the button with average fingers is nigh impossible.

#2 when it arrived it was 99% full but didnt have much over 15,000 mah. So charged it again and running the test again.

I read my kindle books on an old iphone 4S. The iPhone only holds 1,436 mah so far i have charged my iPhone 3 times. That is only 4,308 mah, and according to the power meter 35% of the power has gone.

After i complete the second test i may change my mind but so far i cant recommend it.

Hi all. Been away from Florida since August and have been trying to get as much information as possible. So frustrating when every article I found says all around sw citrus county to evacuate except my neighborhood of Sugarmill Woods. They all make a point of saying we are excluded but don't offer any reason. Finally found and signed up for sheriff alerts. The news channel only want to talk about the large cities. I need to get back to inspect my house. This is my first hurricane..

If Amazon - Belkin and Anker are the top sellers. After trying others, it is all I will buy now. Amazon Basics were very poor. The others all try to look like B or A, lol.

We've also been away from our place in FL since mid-August. Originally, my wife and I had originally planned to be southbound again yesterday, with a one-day stop-over today, and arriving tomorrow. We're now putting it off until we hear that power is back on in our neighborhood. Until then, I see no point in being there, because it's going to be nearly impossible to fix anything that needs fixing...

I know you are right. Seen some looting stories. Just something else to worry about. Hopefully those that would go so low as to kick people already down are few and far between. So glad members of ecf are here to exchange info and offer a kind ear when one of us needs that.:)

So I just got back to the house that has no power :0( from driving around half of Lakeland. Probably going to be a week or so without power. It sucks, plus tomorrow I have to go back to work ::thumbs down::

It seems as if the northside drew the short straw on this storm. Northside of Lakeland (country and country boys everywhere. The side of town I was born and raised) has trees down. Looks like we may have a tornado or 2 come through. Of course the strongest part of the eye came right over this side of town. Good thing the boys out here have trucks, tractors, chain saws and a get 'er done attitude. Places are flooded and there are trees laying on roofs and across the roads. Wooden power poles snapped like toothpicks. Here is a pic of a few of the poles.

    e844448c707189d0744b08f5140b3739.jpg

Drove straight through the middle of town and the southside barely got touched. No power on the northside but the southside (rich side of town) has power, fast food places open with lines out the wazoo.

Needless to say we got hit hard along with other places in central Florida over to the west coast. I heard that this storm is a hurricane that will go down in the record books and they are retiring the name Irma from the list of hurricane names for the future.

Been a top reviewer on Amazon for 19 years. At one point i was a top 100 reviewer before the professional reviewer grabbing free stuff came in.

I have written over 600 reviews there and still in the top 3000 reviewers.

Just got back from taking things MIL forgot to her. Lines for McD's going all the way through the parking lot of Walgreens next to the McD's.

We had pizza at a restaurant that had AC. They did not expect to be as busy as they were. Short staffed.

We have lunch, or breakfast, for tomorrow. ;)

We saw a lot of power company trucks on the road....wish they were fixing the power instead of driving around....

I am so relieved to see that everyone is reporting in and fine !
My power came back on about 30 minutes ago !
I was freaking at hearing it would be 7 - 10 days !!!
I think we may be on the same grid as the fire station tho...so that probably helped !
You could hear all the neighborhood cheering !

Ohmygosh it got intense last night ! Wowzer it did !
No power so no tv to drown it out...ugh !
    No damage for us.
Three houses down had an oak tree go over and I can see several homes with screen sections missing from pool cages.
    We got dang lucky.

I am thankful we are all still here
We lost power around 4am but internet this afternoon so posting on my phone…tiny screen:( .

I know what you mean about drowning out the sounds. I had my TV on pretty loud so it would drown them out. They were so scary.

Being a Louisiana resident, I've weathered quite a few of these storms, with the worst being Andrew. I watched this one with a lot of anxiety, not because we were in the target zone, but because I've become acquainted with so many fine people from this site, and I was damned worried about everybody. I've been cheering to myself for every person I see post here that is all right. I'm still sending prayers that way because, well, that's what I do.
I so agree with you. I have come to care for many wonderful people in ECF since I joined.

I'm relieved to here all of you fin people faired well in the storm. So grateful the human toll was not to great, lord knows it could have been a lot worse. My brother & his wife are in Naples. They are both State employees & had to stay & work the shelters. All is God with them as well. Their house only suffered minor damage. My parents live in Ft Myers in a retirement community. They stayed as well, because they couldn't decide whether to leave or not until Friday. Friday morning they texted me that they were going to leave. I had been watching the reports & suggested to them that by that point it was too late. They would be stuck in traffic & find the gas stations empty. They checked things out on the net & agreed. Their neighbors condo had storm shutters & the went over there & rode it out. They & all who stayed at their complex are fine with minimal damage to the buildings.

Never used Belkin. Had two Anker abd don't recommend them.

The Anker packs are OK. I JUST find Anker over priced and under powered.

I got three more Poweradd packs after testing the first. All four are great!

Each weighs about a pound. I paid $20.99 each, in my test on a full charge i pulled 21,908 mah out of a battery pack rated for 20,000 mah. A real treat when an item outperforms expectations. Check the price of a 10,000 mah Anker . you can't touch an Anker for $20.99.

You're right Amazon basics are LOUSY!

You cant imagine the amount of hate mail and negative feedback i get just telling the truth about peoples preferred brand.

The way i review. i test then tell the truth about the item.

One of these days i will tell what happened when i tested the Ultra Fire 9900 mah 40 amp batteries. :).

    Glad to have helped.

I used to be a big fan of Kmashi then i got three Kmashi 15,000 mah packs that were DOA.

I GOT 5 Kmashi 10,000 mah packs 3.5 years ago, and three of them are still in service.

One could not hold a full charge.
The other had a power switch that failed and no longer safe.

I live off grid and have a total of 9 battery packs.

We lost power around 4am but internet this afternoon so posting on my phone…tiny screen:( .

I did that recently, 24 and I'll probably go up again. @beckdg is a bad influence

Actually, there's a reason but that's an issue for its own thread.

Below is our Irma impacted list. If you would like to have your status updated that would be great for others looking out for you. Lets treat it like a report card,,,

A= good shape just a little clean up
    B=minor damage/repairs needed
    C=more than minor repairs
    D= major repairs need
F= total loss, may need help
OK= ok, and you want to leave it at that

Of course you dont have to rate yourself until later.

Its quite possible you wont find your damage/needs until later. I dont want to assign a status to anyone,,so I leave that to you.

If someone needs help they can email of course to see what can be done to assist you. I know that I have some vape related items I can send you if need be.
