According to FPL's website, power at my address has been restored today.

So I had someone actually check. Nope; no power.

How can they be confused about this when they have "smart meters" that they can communicate with and my meter shows no signs of life at all? :confused:

Heh, not so "smart". "Someone" smarter.

Good luck. :)

Well got power back Thursday, but still no tv or internet. Found out yesterday my business phone had been out all week, no wonder I was not getting any calls. It did come back up late last night, but no telling how many calls were missed last week withat it not working. Internet on my phone is up and down, mostly down, which is why you are not seeing much of me on here. I think the cell towers are overloaded due to all othe internet options being down. I'll post more once I get a stable internet conection. Everyone stay safe. :)
Glad you checked in and keeping us updated.

:shock: Finally got on FPL website and got aa report. . . mbIt seems electricity to my apartment will not be available until 11:45 p.m. Monday the 18th...:censored::censored::censored:
Uncle this really sucks :mad::mad::mad:

    After mostly sleepless, busy, sweaty and 'interesting' six days (actually within minutes) without power, we're UP (thanx to 'visiting' Ohio Edson power crews)!!!

    Have much to be thankful for with possible stories later <no promises tonight>!

    My heart aches and prays for all the Harvey/Irma unfortunates that lost sooo much and still need assistance. And God bless those that are sacrificing their family time to come to the aid of those in need!

    Personal relief is a joy, but true relief is priceless for oh so many!!!

    Later...

    Just got power back.
    No house damage, just a lots of clean up.
    6 days of no power/AC and a gas/bagged ice shortage was the worst.
    Hope all the other Floridians, and those to the north fared Ok.
    Just started getting caught up on the Irma thread....
    glad to hear from you! hope your power issues get back to normal soon.

    current update (just moving the list forward) Updated status,, but they may have spotty electric/cell/isp service so dont worry if communications is difficult for them.

    Below is our Irma impacted list. If you would like to have your status updated that would be great for others looking out for you. Lets treat it like a report card:

    A= good shape just a little clean up
    B=minor damage/repairs needed
    C=more than minor repairs
    D= major repairs need
    F= total loss, may need help
    OK= ok, and you want to leave it at that

    Of course you dont have to rate yourself until later.

    Its quite possible you wont find your damage/needs until later. I dont want to assign a status to anyone,,so I leave that to you.

    If someone needs help they can email of course to see what can be done to assist you. I know that I have some vape related items I can send you if need be. I moved some of the names up to the top of the list. So far we have made real progress accounting for everyone.

    Flowersoul posted this Thursday morning in another thread:
    Power not on yet, so staying w/son & family. Hubby left a bit ago to asses damage, if any. Neighbor sent us a video and no apparent damage, but was unable to see the back lanai, cage, etc.
    Son's home did not even lose power!!! We stayed here during Matthew, and no problem then either.

    Trip home was horrific from NC; stark contrast to our exodus.

    @kross8 Fortunately, I'm an 'A'. As long as the sun shines, I have power! Cell was out until Thursday. Actually kind of nice not hearing the damn thing for 4 days!
    Surprisingly, my sat tv and sat Internet connections never went down.

    Lake Wales has been without pwr, food, and gas although I understand it's getting better every day. Have enough food and gas to last until Monday. Hopefully some of the hysteria will have died down by them.
    That is good news! Hang in there, the rest will be there soon.

    @Kenna, you use small, flexible willow stems, pencil-sized or smaller, strip the leaves, cut them into 1-3 inch lengths, about 2 cups of them. Boil 2 quarts of water and pour over them; leave them in the water the equivalent of overnight (8-10 hours, doesn't have to be at night). Or you can use lukewarm water and soak them a day or two. Take out the cuttings, throw them away. Save the water in a container and label; refrigerate. It will be good for two months. Use the water for your cuttings a couple of times. The willow hormones in the water will stimulate root growth on the cuttings.

    If you don't need 1/2 gallon, you can use 1 cup of stems to 1 quart of water.
    Thank you for clarifying! My mind got stuck on "??????", & suddenly my eyes were spinning in my head & I got dizzy

    TX is moving right along. Houston Mayor finally lifted curfews so nightlife businesses are picking up now.

    That's good to here. I haven't seen any recent coverage lately. Are any parts still covered in water?
