current update (just moving the list forward) Updated status,, but they may have spotty electric/cell/isp service so dont worry if communications is difficult for them.

Below is our Irma impacted list. If you would like to have your status updated that would be great for others looking out for you. Lets treat it like a report card,,,

A= good shape just a little clean up
B=minor damage/repairs needed
C=more than minor repairs
D= major repairs need
F= total loss, may need help
OK= ok, and you want to leave it at that

Of course you dont have to rate yourself until later.

Its quite possible you wont find your damage/needs until later. I dont want to assign a status to anyone,,so I leave that to you.

If someone needs help they can email of course to see what can be done to assist you. I know that I have some vape related items I can send you if need be. I moved some of the names up to the top of the list.

That's an idea, OBG. But frankly with all the baggage attached to this place
when I split I don't even want to drive down the street...

This is another idea:
{Avocados can be propagated by planting seeds, rooting avocado cuttings, layering and grafting. Avocados do not produce true to the seed. Avocado propagating by cuttings is a more certain method, as propagating a new tree from avocado tree cuttings results in a clone of the parent tree}

So far they have reproduced true to seed but cloning would be a much better
and faster alternative than planting seed (or bugging the new proprietors )

Willow water has never failed me with cuttings, much better than those pricey rooting hormone powders. (I have had a couple of cuttings fail, but it was because I let them dry out.)

Make your own willow water:
Gather about two cups of pencil-thin willow branches cut to 1-3 inch lengths. Steep twigs in a half-gallon of boiling water overnight. Refrigerated liquid kept in a jar with a tight-fitting lid will remain effective up to two months. (Label jar so you won’t confuse it with your homemade moonshine.) Overnight, soak cuttings you wish to root. Or water soil into which you have planted your cuttings with the willow water. Two applications should be sufficient. Some cuttings root directly in a jar of willow water. Make a fresh batch for each use. You can also use lukewarm water and let twigs soak for 24-48 hours.

If you've already seen this, disregard.
Hurricane IRMA Imagery

You can scroll in and see the satellite imagery of Hurricane IRMA's damage.
The areas in black are the ones available.

You can click the magnifying glass on the top right, it opens a search box.
You can then type in an address.
If you know the area you're looking for you can just zoom in.

Back in the 90's when I was a news reader at a radio station I had to read a story about a million dollar space toilet NASA had acquired for their astronuts...
Every time I woodsheded the story I broke out laughing hysterically..but I thought I could read it on air w/o breaking down.
Well, I was able to read all the stories but when it came to the space toilet story I had to hold in the laughter so bad that when I finally finished I passed out in the sound booth from hyperventilation.

By 2007 the cost of pooping in space went up to $19 million.

These are special, Bea. When they mature the skin turns red as you can see in the pic
and the meat tastes buttery...great with chopped onions and a little oil and vinegar :)

So you have to stay up all night boiling water? Why at night? How much water do you soak your cuttings in? What size cuttings work best? Ate you Wikipedia, because I'm asking questions like I think you prolly are! [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

I talked to @JCinFLA the other day after the storm. She says she doesn’t have power, that’s why she hasn’t checked in. She has some damage but not too bad. Just waiting on power to be restored. I’m planning on giving her a call today to see when she is expecting power. She lives in Winter Haven close to Bartow and that area got hit pretty hard.

I keep telling her she needs to get a smartphone and get off dial up speed internet and move herself into the 21st century but she is fighting it hard..lol.

Living 'Off Grid'
@kross8 Fortunately, I'm an 'A'. As long as the sun shines, I have power! Cell was out until Thursday. Actually kind of nice not hearing the damn thing for 4 days!
Surprisingly, my sat tv and sat Internet connections never went down.

Lake Wales has been without pwr, food, and gas although I understand it's getting better every day. Have enough food and gas to last until Monday. Hopefully some of the hysteria will have died down by them.

@Kenna, you use small, flexible willow stems, pencil-sized or smaller, strip the leaves, cut them into 1-3 inch lengths, about 2 cups of them. Boil 2 quarts of water and pour over them; leave them in the water the equivalent of overnight (8-10 hours, doesn't have to be at night). Or you can use lukewarm water and soak them a day or two. Take out the cuttings, throw them away. Save the water in a container and label; refrigerate. It will be good for two months. Use the water for your cuttings a couple of times. The willow hormones in the water will stimulate root growth on the cuttings.

If you don't need 1/2 gallon, you can use 1 cup of stems to 1 quart of water.

Well got power back Thursday, but still no tv or internet. Found out yesterday my business phone had been out all week, no wonder I was not getting any calls. It did come back up late last night, but no telling how many calls were missed last week withat it not working. Internet on my phone is up and down, mostly down, which is why you are not seeing much of me on here. I think the cell towers are overloaded due to all othe internet options being down. I'll post more once I get a stable internet conection. Everyone stay safe. :)
