Who was out all night fixing it is what I want to know
- I think I will write Nyseg a love letter - They will be surprised - it's not usually how we communicate 
I lost one of two 30ft pines in the front yard DH and DD1 will be chopping it up later - hmmmm, maybe I can find some plans for a vapesafe . . .
Haven't gotten everything plugged back in so don't know a lot about the rest of my town, but we are ok here - Lox - roof damage SUX - thanks for giving me another thing to be thankful we escaped! - and Yesssssssss, hot coffee here I come!!!

Great news, Paislia! I think NY was one of the worst hit.... Not much here in Mass.... I did have my books ready in case the power went out, but we lost net, phone and cable instead!
An inverter for your car can be invaluable! It will probably be able to run a coffee pot! It plugs into your lighter plug and you can put regular house plugs into it. You would have to check to make sure not to blow your fuse. I know it won't run something like a hair dryer, but will definitely charge your batteries and phones and other things. Great for camping, too!

I lost power at about 9 last nite, not sure how long it was off, (but came back sometime before I woke) I piled the bed up with blankets and went to bed. I didn't have any damage, but then again I haven't looked in the basement to see if there was any water from the sump being down........

Ha! Would be better if we had a fireplace....but don't wanna drive to Philly to have one
A fireplace or a camping stove are must haves. I am glad to hear everyone is doing semi ok. Lox with out coffee would be a storm in itself.
I hate PPL - because this borough doesn't directly get its power from them - only a feeder line - we appear to not matter for power restoration.

Yes, HB, I saw, and am very grateful to NOT be with Coned right now! I feel for you though! Hope you are staying positive as you can be for all those frustrated peeps! Sounds like PPL isn't doing any better for Lox and Jazz . . . .
They're safety checking as they turn on sections of the borough - they tried a little earlier tonight and the sky lit up blue in 1area and other town list power / this time we hope it's all good.
