Thanks Jack. Appreciate the help.

If you have a heat gun use that. i think it would help and not melt sh**. my button got a little chewed up, thats why i want it replaced. its chrome plated brass. if you fu** up your firing pin like i did from turning the screw driver like a mad man and need to sand it down to fit in that plastic piece without sticking, your pin will be shorter so it may not fire. to fix this i used copper wire rolled up in a ball, you can use paper or whatever but i put that in the threaded hole where the button screws in so the button wont screw in all the way and make it act longer then what it is to make up the space that was sanded off. it sounds confusing so if anyone need pics let me know.

I ripped out the original spring as well as metal piece above the delrin and attached 4 of these magnets to the center of the battery. 30 Neodymium Magnets 1/4 x 1/16 inch Disc N48: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
It was a perfect fit to make a proper connection and fires every time. HUGE performance increase. I tried this after using the sigelei 19 spring and getting misfires. I plan on getting a dremel and some of those chicago screws for a more permanent solution.

I did the resistance measurements on this after hauling the accurate meter off a shelf in the back room (where it has been for about the past ten years lol). Resistance is somewhat more relevant than voltage drop because resistance is independent of any specific build.

I made an 18650 battery sized slug from ordinary copper tubing which measured about 400 to 500 micro ohms (millionths of an ohm). The ends were polished, then the slug installed in the hybrid just as a battery would be. Then hooked up the hybrid elite and closed the switch -- total resistance of about 230 milli-Ohms or .230 Ohms. Abominable. I plan to try a few modifications I have in mind, maybe a little less drastic than the Chicago screw, and if I get marked improvements, I'll post the results.

Next up are other mods, but I need to make a fixture to get in the 510 connection (using 4 wire Kelvin connection) without adding any relevant resistance at the connection.

No worries. I popped the spring out. It is just pressed in to the white Delrin plastic piece. I then pressed in a threaded brass fitting with an adjustable brass screw. That way it can accommodate different sized batteries, ect. You press the button, spring loaded firing pin hits the brass fitting instead of the battery spring.View attachment 248191View attachment 248192

Many thanks for the Chicago screw fix, works great.

I put an o-ring between the button/switch and the tube to keep from over tightening the battery.

If I can get a V2 for around $40 like I did the V1, I'll happily buy one. Especially since it looks like this switch won't be such a POS. I'll probably wait until they are widely available and well-documented on youtube this time though.

I guess RH is supposed to be coming out with a V2. I wish I could figure out what they are changing on it. Looks like the button is going to be different and it is going to be made out of SS instead of aluminum.

I know what you mean lol. I would probably pick one up, but with them cracking down on the minimum MSRP Idk how easy they will be to get for $30-40. I am sure some places will get them. I just hope I have money when they do it.

Sweet! I wonder if the gold version I bought can be sanded down and polished?

I feel the same way. At the right price, ~$40, I'd jump on it without waiting on youtube reviews.

The V1 was easy enough to mod to hit like a beast.
