I don't know if anyone is interested in trying something like this with their HE, but if you take something that is anodized and put it in the oven at 500 degrees, it will change colors. I did this to a black flashlight. It took about 30-45 minutes to get this color. It will go from red>orange>brown depending on how long you leave it in. I would take the whole thing apart and remove the o-rings, tank, plastic/rubber insulators, pos post, and the button out of the switch housing before doing it. It will also make the anodizing weaker. You can also do this with SS mechs to make them blue/purple/brownish.

That's a good idea. I did try using painter's tape (blue tape) on the inside of the chamber, and punching a smaller hole through it. That worked...okay.

But it didn't fix the rather ugly gouge that I also made on the top cape when I was attempting to enlarge the air hole. THAT'S what's really buggin' me. I'm a bit obsessive that way.

There are severe issues with voltage drop due to the switch. In my opinion, it's almost worthless unless you're willing to do some of the modifications talked about in this thread. Specifically, the "chicago screw" fix. I'm not the best person to explain these things, all I can tell you (thanks to some fellow boardmember's generosity) is that the fix WORKS. Takes it from a disappointment to a WOW. No joke.

I was wondering if they are holding up or not. Thinking of getting one. Are they worth it.

Just got one of these in a trade here in the classifieds.....Gotta say, it felt good to carry around a hybrid mod that was light and cheap enough that if I break it or it gets lifted....wouldnt matter as much.

Once I get my legit Noble tho, Ill be selling this or trading it.

Just out of curiosity, did you fix the switch or was it fixed when you got it?
If not, what's your opinion on the whole thing? I ask because I never paid much attention
to voltage drop until I got this. When my .9 Ohm coil felt like a 3 Ohm carto on a cig-a-like,
that was when I realized what the "big deal" about voltage drop was.

I'm wondering if they were all as bad as mine or if some of 'em left the factory in better shape.

The switch was fixed when I got mine. Dude I got it from did the upgrade. I was planning on trading it, but I think Ill keep it around a little bit longer. Its really grown on me.

I have high end hybrids as well as some nicer 'cheap' mechanicals but this one is perfect for going out with if youre worried about losing it. LOL

Heh, I've only got two hybrids, both cheapies. The Hybrid Elite and the I-Chybrid. Both are now (after some minor tinkering) working really really great.

But it's got me eyeballing non-clones now. So it's either gonna be the Richman hybrid or the Noble 1.

Thanks for the input! I need all I can get! I am leaning heavily towards the Richman.
I just hope they're back in stock by the time I get some cash flowin' again.

There's also the fact that the Hybrid Elite looks almost identical to the Noble 1. I just want something that
looks different, even if just a little bit.

All that said, I rebuilt my Hybrid Elite this evening and filled it up with some Klorine from vapetrik.
MAN this stuff is sooooo good! I know some people are turned off by color-added e-liquid but it doesn't
bother me, and it compliments the silver anodized Hybrid Elite very well. :)

And with the Chicago Screw Fix, it's working beee-yoo-tifully. This would be more apparent if I had a background that didn't bounce the flash and mute the vapor.....

I have the Noble 1 and love her. Shes an awesome hybrid.....BUT, if it were my money, Id be down for the Richman. Ive heard great things about that hybrid.

I just got my Richman in the mail a couple of weeks ago. I ordered the matte finish. I like it a lot. The only thing I miss from my Elite, is how easy it was to change flavors on the elite; pop the top off, slide the glass up, and wash it out. On the Richman, you need to remove the screw from the center post before you can take apart the atty. You do not need to re-coil the wick though. The glass is held captive between the deck and the base of the tank portion on the Richman. This makes it less prone to breaking while rebuilding it after cleaning than the Elite. Both are good devices (once you fix the switch on the Elite.) The Richman stands a little taller than the Elite. The button on the Richman has a super short throw. This can be easily changed though, if you like those long throws. The Richman is a lot heavier. I'll snap some side-by-side pics when I get home from work today.
