To see if it will work, I would go with a disposable 510 from madvapes. They are only 10$. Add on a pack of cartomizers (easiest to change and carry) and there you go. The disposables tend to be longer use than specified and you should be able to vape a week or so off the carts (the included and a 5 pack) for around 20$. As mentioned by others, go with a high 24mg mix of nicotine at first.

I just quit after 20 years of smoking thanks to my 510 kits (smoktech auto's) and the PCC i bought from them. Great service, fast shipping. I just ordered another 510 kit to have more comfort that a hardware failure will not get me to pick up an analog. Good luck to you!

Hi, guys!
I did it! Oh, my god, I can't beleive it! I am actually VAPING!So. Here goes.
I looked on Youtube and found a good video of Scott filling in cartridge and assembling the sigarette and I followed his instructions. It was so easy! And then I just... puffed away!
My first impressions - I like it! It pufffes really easy, feels like a real smoke, taste a little different but not unpleasant at all. When I said that I am a heavy smoker, I meant that I smoke often but I smoke light sigarettes, so I ordered a light liquid as well.
Now - inevitably - questions:
1. I was said 2 atomizers. Why? Do they need to be replaced? How often?
2. There was 10 cartriges there - well, I realize that they have to be replaced, but again - how often? Can you re-fill the same cartridge or do you have to fill a new cartridge every time the old one runs out?
3. Scott showed the 'quick' way to fill in the cartridge but he said it was not the correct way to do it. He just squeezed several drops of e-liquid inside the cartridge and said it was about 3/4 full. How do you fill it properly then?
Unfortunately, there was hardly any usefull instructions with my kit, so I am a bit confused still. You were so helpfull to me and I hope you will give an excellent advice again

All parts can break if mishandled barring that most can last some time.

Atomizers are the most often replaced parts they can be tempermental properly used and cleaned they can last several weeks.

Cartidges can last a verly long time if cleaned and the is replaced occasionally there are various threads on materials that can be used to replace cart stuffing.

The easiest way for a new user to fill carts is to turn them upside down and slowly drip juice into them letting it soak into the stuffing. Once the stuffing stops soaking the juice into a small puddle will form on top of it. Pat the excess away with a tissue or napkin and your cart is full.

Hi, MickeyRat, just re-read you post and makes a bit more sense to me now that I actually hold a Riva in my hands. Yes, I did.
I bought 510s frpm LibertyFlights as it looks like they are the most popular cigs (sorry if I am wrong!) Now to you post - some of it puzzles me still! e.g. You mentioned eGo accessories - what are they?! What I they for? Do I need them?
What's a drip tip for?
Everybody say that I need to replace atomizers - how often though? And how would I know that they need replacing?
I'll stay away from mixing the juce for now - I am confused as it is.
Then you mention Boge catomizers, LR (Low Resistance) atomizers or cartomizers - what do they do?
What is the DIFFERENCE between atomizers and catomizers?! Why there are so many of them?!
Thank you for your post and hope my reply and my new questions are not too silly..:p

If you're satisfied with what you have, stick with the 510 stuff. However, that Riva setup is compatible with eGo accessories as well. You could for instance, get some tank atomizers and tanks and convert it into an eGo-T. There are also eGo mega carts and a bunch of other stuff you don't need to worry about if you're satisfied with what you have. On the other hand, if you have the money and you're gadget happy. There are a lot of things to try with this setup.

What's a drip tip for?

You'll read a lot of threads on here about dripping. A drip tip is just a little open ended tip that sits where the cartridge does. To use it, you drip some juice down the tip directly on the atomizer. You get very nice hits and it's very consistent. You won't get dry hits etc. Drip take, a few hits, drip again. It takes a little practice to know how much to drip and when. It's not good for on the go but, sitting around watching TV, it's very nice. It's also good for sampling juice.

Everybody say that I need to replace atomizers - how often though? And how would I know that they need replacing?

Well you replace them when they quit working. Some people replace them when they start getting a kind of burned taste. Others clean them. They do eventually wear out though. How long they last depends on a lot of factors (juice, how you vape, etc.).

Then you mention Boge catomizers, LR (Low Resistance) atomizers or cartomizers - what do they do?

What came with your Riva kit is atomizers with cartridges. However, if you'd bought a different setup such as a KR808, you would have gotten cartomizers. A cartomizer is a one piece combination cartridge and atomizer. You can buy them prefilled but most people on here get blanks and fill them. They are supposed to be disposable but, most people on here refill them. They won't last as long as an atomizer but, they tend to be cheaper too. There is also some added convenience. You can fill a few of them and change them out during the day. That way you never have to open a juice bottle till you're ready. The Boge is a well made one and it has a soft removeable tip that makes them easy to refill. Boge makes cartomizers that fit on the 510.

I don't think I told you to get any LR stuff yet. However, you can get LR automizers and cartomizers. Let's say things are working for you but, you'd like more vapor or throat hit. Just a little more. The LR attys and carts burn hotter and produce more vapor. They also burn out faster and drain your battery faster but, if you're willing to pay that price for the difference in performance...

I was trying to give you a lot of things you could try for a small additional investment.

For now, find the right juice with the right nic level for you. Don't go wading off into LR and eGo attachments till you've done that. Then if you'd like something different, look at what's available. Ask on here.

Thank you for your post and hope my reply and my new questions are not too silly..:p[/QUOTE]

Grats on your Riva!! I would only add that like others have said buy a bunch small bottles of different nicotine strength since there isn't a direct correlation between analogs and Ecigs. I had to step down 2 levels from what I thought was the right amount of nicotine because it made me dizzy and amped. And I smoked a pack and a half a day for 30 years.

Hi, guys!
I was happily vaping all day and was proud and felt good and not I suddenly had this craving for a normal cigarette! It makes me feel awlful I mean, the whole purpose of e-cigs is that you are not suppose to want normal cigs, right? Does it mean that I am not suitable for e-cigs? Did it happen to any of you? Or you just converted to e-cigs straight away?

You're being too hard on yourself. First, you are switching not quitting. Some people vape once and never look back. That's not most of us. Go ahead and have a few cigarettes a day for a few weeks. Vape in between. After a while, you won't enjoy it as much. Then it'll be time to put them down for good.
