I am always amazed at the "OH MY GOD, IT HAS NICOTINE IN IT!!!" people.

So the FDA and FAA are doing the song and dance on regulations regarding e-cigs. One of the prime reasons is due to the "nicotine" content and how others can be affected by the POTENTIAL of released nicotine vapors.

Well golly, I guess that I must be the only person in the world that knows that gee there is nicotine in LOTS of things. Like eggplant (second only to tobacco in ng/g), green tomatoes, spinach, potatoes, etc..

I guess our friends should get on the "Let's Ban Veggies" bandwagon before we are all killed by the nicotine that is contained in these terrible products.

I get the runaround from my family when I tell them that the e-cigarette got me off cigarettes. They tell me, "How is it any different if it still has nicotine?" I have to point out that for starters almost every stop smoking treatment, i.e. patch, inhaler, gum, lozenge, has nicotine. Also, I point out that my e-cigarette doesn't have the other 2000 lethal chemicals that a cigarette has.

If they even try to put a stop to ecigs, they wont suceed.. Unless they tax the heck out of all of our vendors, making it impossible for them to keep an open shop.

Well, thankfully, the Chinese really don't care so much about what the FDA says. Risky to order direct, yes... but I actually had a Chinese vendor offer... OFFER... to leave out any mention of "electronic cigarette" on the bill of lading. It just mentioned "electronics".

They'll most likely try to regulate pre-filled cartos & pre-mixed juice. I build my own mods, and I've got about 2 years worth of nic in the freezer and 3 years worth of cartos. Everything else is pretty innocuous... and if they tax nicotine by the mg, they'll run afoul of both big tobacco AND big pharma (as the price of all those "97% failure rate" NRT's will go through the roof).

I'm ultimately not too worried about it anymore. I have a feeling the pendulum is about to swing in the other direction, starting next year ;)

Let's hope so. I agree, the Chinese could care less, and DIY is already huge sooo, what are they going to do? :)

You are right about that. My wife keeps talking about 'I don't want to use so much nicotine", then will sneak off and take a few puffs of a real cig. I tell her she did not even care about the nicotine for the past 40 years, now that she would NOT BE SMOKING 2000 LETHAL Chemicals, who cares about a little nic. No worse than caffeine, unless you vape like a chimney, then just reduce the nic content. It makes perfect sense to me. I cannot understand how others can fixate on the nic, but can ignore both the nic AND the extra killing chems in real cigs. Fascinating, as Spock would say.

I've given up trying to explain what a genuinely good thing vaping is. You either get it or you don't.

This is so true. When I first started vaping 19 months ago I wanted to convert every one and converted no one. Now I don't bother showing it to people. I just vape. Sometime I might get a few questions and thats that. Sometimes it takes people some time to come around.

A guy at work saw me vaping like 3 months ago and asked a few questions. Rather short conversation actually. Anyway, out of the blue he emails me asking if I could refer him to a good starter pv. I did one better, I let him borrow some of my extra stuff that I have collected over the year. Also set him up with a carto, atty, and a CE2. So he could decide what worked for him before he buys. He now is almost at week 3 off the analogs now.

Yep, who cares that multiple studies, many funded by the Federal government, such as that done by Drs. Norma Role, Columbia University and Daniel MacGahee of the University of Chicago show a beneficial component in nicotine. Specifically in its ability to stimulate neurotransmitters and help with ADD, alzheimers, tourettes and parkinsons.

Many chemical compounds have both their positive and negative components. Digitalis helps heart patients, but it can also cause a heart attack. Niacin is a needed component to survive, but it can also lead to strokes. And so on and so on.

It's hilarious. One of my friends asks me once in a while, "You still smoking those fake cigarettes?" I tell him, "Yep, saving money and improving my health". He laughs and thinks I don't know what I'm talking about.

After all, it has NICOTINE and ANTIFREEZE in it, doesn't it? That can't be better than good old time tested tobacco!

When customs was stopping all ecig shipments from china to the u.s. was when I bought my first e-cig. It showed up in a box labeled "spare parts"

That is very cool. He's lucky to work with you.
