Agreed.. I hate the 10-20 seconds big presentation with special effects, all fancy, then it's a guy that's at a table that rambles on for 5 minutes about the "juice" he's going to use (plug, I know) then seems to not be sure on what he's doing with the mod or tank he's reviewing, with his camera going out of focus non stop so you can't even see things well.

If the reviewers would all play Johnny Cash or Waylon Jennings as their background music, I would never stop watching.
If that's the music they'd play, I'd never watch!
We all have our kinks preferences!!

Whenever i want to watch a video about vaping it tickles my nerves when they repeatedly pause to take a vape hit. In general i am annoyed with review/instruction videos that waste my time. Most videos out there has 10 times more duration than it has to be. GET TO THE POINT!!!

Ok.. Maybe i am irrational, but anyone else find this frustrating? If i where a more ambitious man i would make a channel called "get to the {moderated} point" and make various instruction videos that is compressed to only what is relevant and to the point.
I'm right there with you...more often than not, these vids are just over saturated, un-educated nonsense

My favorite reviewers are indoor smokers and the vaping bogan . Both these guys are entertaining and are good reviewers and as far as I can tell offer an unbiased fair opinion.

lol the vaping bogan is every stereotype about Australians ever made if its the guy I'm thinking of.

I got a lot of value out of watching vape videos. They have helped me find out about different ways of vaping, to help refine what works for me. I never watch ejuice reviews, don't see the point of them at all. All of my favorite reviewers have been mentioned in this thread except for bigloueastcoast. I like his videos even though his vaping style is a lot different than mine...he's probably the least biased reviewer out there. Most of these guys are more like HSC or TVC hosts than actual reviewers...and they do, in fact, get paid, by sponsorships as well as youtube revenue sharing. They're not really doing it for free, for the most part. That's not a criticism of them, some of them are very upfront about it. Anytime you see an affiliate code, that's also a revenue source. Again I don't blame any of them for making an honest buck, but I also take that into consideration when I watch a review. It's very rare that a reviewer will say, "Don't buy this, it's a piece of junk." If it's a significant purchase, I usually wait a for a few weeks after a review to see what regular customers think of the thing, rather than buying based on a review. Sometimes, it's really useful to watch a video about a device you already own...case in point, I recently got a new/old aqua2 rta...it was useful to watch vid about it, although nothing I didn't already know...just for stuff like what ID coil, what resistance, airflow, etc, the reviewer favored. For some of these guys, every single tank/rda/mod is 'sick as tots'. I tend to avoid those reviewers.

Yup.. the unboxing and the yadda-yadda-yadda that goes with it means click ahead to the meaty part of vid I was watching to the parts I wanted to see. A pic is worth a thousand words but a video is 10,000 words. I take the Merlin atty thread as example, there were all kinds of written explanations to how to break it apart but I couldn't figure it out then I saw some pics of how to get it apart so I tried and JOY..I did it. Posted my victory and others again wanted to know how I did it. I don't have a video cam but I made a short, crappy to the point video how to break a Merlin apart with a old Cannon camera I had to show the masses how I did it.
Some try to make a life out of vaping videos, many fail and some are plain stupid but If it wasn't for those videos we would still be scratchin our heads to figure something out before you break it trying. My new hobby is a android TV box with Kodi that requires a super steep learning curve to figure out and without videos I'd still be more-or-less out in left field wondering. BTW...once you figure the Kodi out, its unbelievable. I haven't watched commercial TV as-per-say since that box got plugged in.

Annoyed with vape videos? Honestly I think that's the stupidest thing I ever heard. Thats like being annoyed by a tv or radio channel, my opinion is, just simply don't watch it! No one is forcing you to watch it . Although most aren't done professionally, those guys are trying to help and probably have helped a few to quit cigarettes, which is the main thing. I could see your point if you were forced to watch a bad video, but your not

There are only 6 or 8 reviewers i will watch regularly: Rip, Phil, Matt, grim, djlsb, Mike, and a couple of the ladies whose names escape me.

I dislike the bad camera angles and people who just seem unprepared when they go to shoot the video. If i am wasting my time to see what you have to say about a mod, I expect you to know everything about it! and clip your damn nails!

Been vaping 7 years and I know 2 of those names, lol.

Edit: 3, rip trippers, his videos used to actually be watchable

I measure Phil's videos in increments of time called busardo's, one hour equals .95 busardo's.

i ended up skimming through half a dozen yesterday, trying to figure out where i went wrong with a build on an unfamiliar RBA... only the last one actually showed what i needed, a side view.

Yesterday I watched a video that was 37 minutes long and the reviewer spent so much time saying the name of the RBA at least 100 times. He spent so much time on important things like the cardboard sheath the box comes in. One of the most annoying things was that the fast forward was disabled so to end to the end you had to watch it in it's entirety!

Maybe you should let them know you don't like their reviews. Tell them how to personalise just to your liking.
There is plenty of crap on the internet but no one is forcing you to look at it.
Jesus if you don't like a reviewer don't watch their reviews, it's simple.

If the reviewer is honest and accurate I don't think there is any such thing as a bad review. Have you considered that they may not be privileged enough to have good quality video and audio equipment and may not have the best production quality and experience. But they are there giving up their own time trying to give folks like us information about products FOR FREE.
We should all be grateful for any review out there not complaining that you don't like them.

Next you'll be complaining that there are too many reviews in languages you don't understand.

Not necessarily for free, a lot of them are paid, or at the very least get free stuff. Phil was able to quit his job and turn it into a career and rip trippers does the same.

Hell, if you get enough subscribers and views, YouTube pays plenty by itself, plus ad revenue if the videos are monetized.

There was a reviewer years ago I liked, " fields of vapor" I think was his title.....Mostly today I'll watch Daniel or Tony ,vapor trails.......Does anyone remember DrVapor and his tutorials on atties and cartos ?

He's still around, but I don't think he does video anymore. last I saw from him was back when I had a gg ody
