I rebuilt my RM2 last night, like I've done 100 times. I used 30 gauge wire to see if it would heat up quicker, otherwise, same as always...1.2 ohms, cotton wick. When I fired it up, it was really hitting hard with intense flavor, which I attributed to the thinner wire, all else being equal. All day today I was coughing after taking a hit, which is unusual for me, but the vape was really flavorful. It was like a smoker's cough. On the way home, after hitting and coughing a few more times, I finally pulled the drip tip off to see if something was amiss.
Immediately I saw that I had installed the coil on the wrong side of the atty, away from the air hole. I have no idea how I could have done that last night without noticing, there's about half as much room to build on that side, and I even squonked last night while watching with the drip tip off to prime the wick.
I can report that if you're looking for a strong throat hit and thick, juicy flavor, building it backwards is just the ticket as long as you also enjoy coughing.
