I am a hard fact. I've about had it with being labeled as an anecdote when an ANTZ hears I've quit smoking via vaping. The definition of anecdotal: (of an account) not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research. Ironic right? Where do the researchers find their facts then? Apparently in some way other than from the very people who quit smoking via vaping, ya know... personal accounts lol!

Ok rant over...

Where do the researchers find their facts then?

With regards to human behavior, they (or we) make them up as we (or they) go along. We pretend like the scientific method is at work and is objective, when in reality, it is characteristically anecdotal.

42% of all statistics are made up.

I'm certainly not an anecdote. I quit smoking for the longest time I've ever achieved, in 39 yrs of smoking, by using e-cigs. (I once managed an entirely horrible 3 months, cold turkey -- the suffering is why I went back to smoking.)

Anecdotally, if I hadn't found e-cigs, I'd never have quit smoking. *I* know that, but it's an anecdote because it's an assumption of a future non-event.

At 59 I can honestly say that the longest I had ever gone without one cigarette since I was 14 was right around 3 months...

Since I started vaping about 18 months ago I have not only not had one cigarette, cigar or dip---I haven't even wanted one.

Stick that in yer pipe and smoke it ya ANTZ ~lol~
