Hi guys,
Sorry I've been offline for a while. A couple weeks ago I had been having a tough week at work and wound up neglecting my online resposibilities for a few days, figuring I'd catch up on the weekend. But then my last working computer crashed.
Over that weekend, I took it back to the wholesale computer market I had bought it from, but then wasn't able to get back downtown to pick it back up for a week (it's a two-hour trip each way, so I only do it on weekends), and when I did, it crashed again same night I got it home. In the meantime I tried buying a macbook from a friend, but he wasn't ready to sell because he still hadn't copied his data off of it, so instead I waited until the weekend and went to pick up my repaired notebook PC. Which, as I said, then immediatly crashed again.
So, I said screw this and I bought a desktop PC the next day.
But when I got that home, I found a couple of problems. For one, the keyboard didn't work. For another, the OS turned out not to be real Windows 7, it's a chinese look-alike, and didn't have an english-language pack for it, so everything was in Chinese, making it damn difficult to use at all. (Worse, it's not even a copy of Win 7, it's basically XP dressed up with Win 7's looks.) And with work and all, I didn't get time to go get a new keyboard or a "real" copy of Windows until a Thursday night.
And since then, well, I have to admit I've been procrastinating a little. It's like coming home from work and staring at a pile of dirty dishes. You think maybe it will seem a little less daunting in the morning when you're fresh. I'm sorry for that, guys. My apologies again.
But I'm back in action again. I have a new PC, and not a cheapie from a nameless manufacturer this time, which will keep me online at home. The two cheapies are being repaired now (both needed new hard drives) so I'll have access at the factory again.
I'll try to get caught up more on the forum tomorrow, since the factory is closed on Sundays, but I have one or two threads I really, REALLY need to respond to tonight.
