Hi guys,

Sorry I've been offline for a while. A couple weeks ago I had been having a tough week at work and wound up neglecting my online resposibilities for a few days, figuring I'd catch up on the weekend. But then my last working computer crashed.

Over that weekend, I took it back to the wholesale computer market I had bought it from, but then wasn't able to get back downtown to pick it back up for a week (it's a two-hour trip each way, so I only do it on weekends), and when I did, it crashed again same night I got it home. In the meantime I tried buying a macbook from a friend, but he wasn't ready to sell because he still hadn't copied his data off of it, so instead I waited until the weekend and went to pick up my repaired notebook PC. Which, as I said, then immediatly crashed again.

So, I said screw this and I bought a desktop PC the next day.

But when I got that home, I found a couple of problems. For one, the keyboard didn't work. For another, the OS turned out not to be real Windows 7, it's a chinese look-alike, and didn't have an english-language pack for it, so everything was in Chinese, making it damn difficult to use at all. (Worse, it's not even a copy of Win 7, it's basically XP dressed up with Win 7's looks.) And with work and all, I didn't get time to go get a new keyboard or a "real" copy of Windows until a Thursday night.

And since then, well, I have to admit I've been procrastinating a little. It's like coming home from work and staring at a pile of dirty dishes. You think maybe it will seem a little less daunting in the morning when you're fresh. I'm sorry for that, guys. My apologies again.

But I'm back in action again. I have a new PC, and not a cheapie from a nameless manufacturer this time, which will keep me online at home. The two cheapies are being repaired now (both needed new hard drives) so I'll have access at the factory again.

I'll try to get caught up more on the forum tomorrow, since the factory is closed on Sundays, but I have one or two threads I really, REALLY need to respond to tonight. ;)

Welcome back leaford!
I'm a noob, but have heard/read that your like the guru of PV's? So, enlighten me, should I get an infinity or a provari? I have an e-go now. :/

TIA

LOL! Skye, this is a Bloog forum. Guess it shows up on "new posts". So I don't think you'll get a recommendation for either of those two choices, sorry.

It is a relief to see you back here. Not sure I love being compared to a pile of dirty dishes. :?:
Do you discuss on the phone with your partners/employers what's going on here? Your absence has been accounted for, but as Keyzy said, what about the others? Does everyone realize the impact of completely ignoring us for a week?

Has it only been a week? seams longer

Ha! Starsong, can you tell me how a Bloog compares to say a 510, e-go, or the vapor kings? I'm looking for a new PV, and would really like to get it right this time. :)

I tried a Riva 910, Vapor King (regular & diamond), and Bloog - so can only comment on those. I'll never use the 910 again. The VK diam. is similar to Bloog, but the Bloog lasts a bit longer. They have the same look/feel and both hit immediately (no primary puff needed on the auto).
Those others you mentioned in your first post aren't the same form factor - the Bloog & VK have a more analog size/feel, the others are odd looking (LOL). So they perform differently. Guess it depends on what you'd prefer holding and lugging around with you.

Probably longer for Leaford, but NYC hasn't really participated other than a couple brief comments this past week. Those are the only two I've ever seen in their forum.

Yeah - something is fishy - did you notice that NYC CLOSED the Stock Update thread???? Why would she do this???

Thanks Star, I appreciate the info. I have spent so much moolah on hardware it's sad. So, I am hesitant to spend more on something I might not like. Still looking for that ummm "sweet spot" everyone talks about. Guess I'll have to stick with what I have for now. Unless leaford wants to send me one to sample :D jk Really! :p

LOL, hey you never know! Without trying to come off sounding like a cheerleader, I'll just say from my own personal experience that I like the Bloog MF best and the VK diam is a close 2nd. (The diam is prettier, but the BMF lasts longer). I only own 1 BMF so I alternate between that and the VK throughout the day while the other is charging. As soon as the BMF stock is back, I'll be getting another.

I suggested that nyc close it so we wouldn't keep getting random posts from people who didn't realize they shouldn't post on that sticky. That way she can open it just long enough to post the new updates and then close it again. It has been a closed sticky for many weeks, so it's nothing new. As starsong pointed out, it was meant to be informational only.

Thanks for the explanation! Not all forums are like this - they leave it open all the time - that's why I was confused. I understand now.

Well over at V4L they have 2 copies of the stock thread. One is solely for them to update and close. The copy they keep open for comments. I don't know about any other forums.
