I had the same issue. For the first month, I went from 2 packs a day to 1/2 or under depending on the day.

Then I had some time off work and forced myself to not smoke a single analog. However, I felt like I was hit by a truck but just not as bad as going cold turkey. Didn't really matter since it was still absolutely awful. It really didn't seem to matter how much I vaped.

Broke down and bought a pack and now only have one when I really MUST. Which has been stepping down from 1/2 a pack to 3 at most a day.

Everyone's addiction is different.

Keep enjoying the vaping, smoke when you need to, and don't worry about "trying" to get it right, because there is no right. I started by having a cigarette when I needed one, and smoked and vaped for the first six weeks, cutting down from 1-1/2 packs to about 5-10 a day, then 1-3, then none. Didn't plan it, it just worked itself out. Will also say that I started with a 901, then added a 510. Then went to a KR8080D-1 (with greencig carts) which made cigarettes completely unnecessary for me, though I still carry around a pack so I know I can if I want, but haven't been tempted.
I think one trick, which quite a few folks have mentioned, is to not worry about using low-nic to start. Having enough nicotine seems to be key to really adjusting to the "new way" of smoking(vaping). Now that I've been completely off cigarettes (by choice for once, no stress or feelings of deprivation) for over a month I have lowered the mg., but I think the higher levels are more helpful in the beginning. I still can't believe I have completely stopped smoking without regrets (and if I do have a quick urge I just have to think of that year-old pack of cigarettes in my purse and the idea of actuallly lighting one makes the urge vanish - funny that).
As to costs for all this new "stuff," calculate what you spend each week on cigarettes and you'll find that adding a new model e-cig to the arsenal is definitely a cost saver in the long run.
Good luck and just keep at it, making adjustments as you go. It's not about keeping up with someone else's schedule, it's about what works for you.

Yes, some advice...

Smoke a cigarette whenever you want.
It will come to you when it comes to you.

And get some higher strength nicotine juice for when you think you need it.
That has helped a lot of people get over the hump.

What he said

Took me 2 weeks of vaping to realise the analogs tasted terrible and did not need them. When I got some 24mg carts after the 16mg stuff that was sent with my orginal kit didn't cut it, I knew I was done with analogs.

Now I vape 18 & 24mg juice with a few drops of 36 or 48 depending on the mood. The 18mg in my 901 and the 24mg in my 510. Flavor and maintenence, in that order...

i got a joytech 510..........and what do u mean drip on the atty???? like drop fluid right on it???? how do u smoke if ur piece is open like that i dnt get it..........

You're lucky you started out with a great e-cig. Plenty of punch with 24mg liquid. Get some spare batts though, and a PCC if you haven't already.

Also, those things use a lot of liquid. If you get a burnt taste often, or get tired of refilling the carts so often, try this mod with a coffee stirrer - works great!

yeh I used to smoke a pack of marlboro red 100s a day. (I think they're an inch longer than regular 72mm cigarettes so it's more like a pack + half)

I got my 901 a few days ago, and it does not compare to the lovely smoke in your lungs nicotine in your brain feeling from a real cigarette.

One tip tho, it's all about the foreplay. If you hold the ecig and play with it for a while and think about smoking it before you actually do, you'll build it up more in your mind and the hit will be more satisfying (maybe.)

As others have said, it's all individual. What works for me might not work for you etc etc..

We are gluttonous creatures - keep in mind that you don't NEED a cigarette, it's just become a habit reaching for them and feeling those feelings from the chemicals.

And for the grand finale... The longer you wait before smoking/vaping when you want to smoke/vape, the better the smoke/vape is going to be. If you are having a craving, make yourself wait an hour until you don't really want a smoke, then have one. Cigarettes/nicotine is a powerful chemical - BUT NOT WHEN YOU ABUSE IT. I find that when I don't smoke all day (out of willpower - you better believe I want a damn smoke) and then I smoke one in the evening - the effects are shockingly strong. But if I suck on cigarettes all day long they don't seem to do anything.

Hope something I wrote makes sense..

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones cuz I've hated the way analogs taste almost as long as I've been smoking which WAS 42 years,so it only took me a week. I have been tempted, my 510 has kept satisfied & my counter is accurate. I also started with a higher nicotine & taper down here & there. That being said, all e-liquid & suppliers are not created equal.I've also been fairly lucky there. My 1rst few orders, the flavors were excellent. Then I tried a few suppliers that were having sales. Now I have a half dozen bottles that I'll use for back-up or experimenting only & a couple I may try to make my own rat poison.
Unfortunately, this industry, like any other, falls prey to manufacturers & suppliers that are here for the fast buck. They're fairly easy to spot, but you kinda just have to be prepared to get burned a few times until you find your favorite suppliers.
Also, IMHO, just because they are members here, does not necessarily mean they are selling good product, though there are some fantastic suppliers here. It's a buyer beware game.
Regardless, I believe this is safer than tobacco & the information I've obtained here is top notch.
Good luck,
NB
