Look what you guys have done to me with this awesome site and all these cool mods!
And since I have no idea what I'm doing right now, I fear the more I learn, the more this is going to snowball out of control.
So much for this banner below telling me how much money I've saved on vaping.
Between the DIY juice and the Mods, my wife says I look like some tweaker/mad scientist.
I don't even know what I'm going to do with all these but they are a lot of fun to make.

Really nice woodwork...I've actually been thinking about a wood mod next...Steampunk all the way too...Just remember ya gotta feed the mod habit slightly every day or it causes ya to make some outlandish mods...lol I've been looking at my BBQ lighter all evening...

Not wanting to spend 200 on a wood mod is what got me to make some in the first place.
I'm not sure what the big makers of wooden mods use in their boxes, but pricing out just the components from Digikey and Madvapes, I can see why they cost so much.

From what I see since you cant resale TI samples, total cost for components to build some of these, wooden box not included, can get pretty steep.

Priced all parts to make each complete mod as a bottom feeder, since parts wise it doesnt add much cost.
Standard 3.7v $7.24
Fixed 5v 3a $10.98
OKRT-R vv 6amp $22.95 10amp $24.96
UCC383T-ADJ vv $24.52
PTN04050C series booster vv $34.14
PTR08060WVD 6a vv $32.54
PTR08100WVD 10a vv $36.72

So I guess depending on what chip some of those higher end wood mods are made with and after you factor in the time and cost of materials to build the wooden housing and to assemble it all. Those higher price tags on some of those mods dont sem to bad.

Nope they are fairly acurate I believe. I said total cost for components to build each complete mod. Not just the chip itself.

PTR08100WVD $16.72
2x 100uf 10v tantalum caps $6.52
Trimmer pot 200 ohm .5w $2.56
3amp momentary switch $1.79
And so on... With small buffer for feeder pipe, solder, shrink tube and misc. But I think I got it fairly close on price.
