I got my brand new LP Black Wrinkle with Copper Vein REO Grand, Brass button cover, and un-milled RM2 in today HUZZAH!

First impression when I unwrapped the REO itself, quite literally blew me away.

Pictures just can't compare to seeing and holding a REO in person, very very impressed. On that note, the picture on the REO site for my mod absolutly did not do it's finish justice, I don't know if it was the lighting or what, but man the finish on this thing looks way way better then it did in the photo.

I noticed a little bit of weird residue in the 510 connector, probably just something left over from some part of the machining process I assume, wiped it up and looks good.

I sat at home and intercepted the mail man, and was so psyched, I ran back to work with it, leaving my batteries behind, so I haven't actually vaped it a whole lot yet. Not a huge deal, it gave me some time to become intimate with it, and get that RM2 coiled up and take a virgin squonk :2cool:

I am not to sure what to think about the RM2 yet, I will give it some good use and see how it goes, I am so used to stainless steel rebuildables that it just feels weird to me.

Any how, I will update as I get some more use on it, but first some PICS! (in just a sec..)

Heres my RM2 coil and wick, 28 guage on 1/16 drill bit, comming in at 1.6 ohm. Little higher then I was hoping but ill start there for now. Wicked with 2mm silica.

Kinda unsure on the best way to lay the wick in the rm2, any consensus?

The main thing is to keep from covering up the squonk hole. It will prevent juice from flowing back down. I personally have my wick only slightly longer than the coil. I have about the thickness of the coil on both sides of the coil. I do not have any problem with it wicking properly when I squonk. By having them that short, I do not have to worry about them blocking the hole. If I had the coil and wick like you do (length wise), I would have the wick ABOVE the leg rather than below it on the juice hole side. (Note that I had problems before with the wick being too long and preventing the juice from going back down the hole after squonking.)

Nice looking Reo, Jameth. Welcome to the club!

Now that you're part of the club I have to haze you a bit.
I've gotta say something about that MVP, can't help it....... That thing looks....um..... Mentally deficient.....? :)

Lol yea seriously!

It is pretty much relegated to my build platform now, which it actually is really good at, reads ohms down into sub ohm, even though it wont fire them.

With wick that short, are you using cotton or something else?

How often are you squonking?

Does your coil sit on the ceramic?

With silica, and wicks that short, I think it would have to be touching the ceramic to get the silica in the juice, because it doesn't really droop down that easily.

This coil sits up high enough that the airhole is pretty much striking it directly in the middle of the coil, is that generally how you guys setup an rm2?

Thanks guy's!

It really is a damn good looking mod if I do say so myself!

I find myself looking at it, admiring its beauty quite frequently.

I certainly have vaped it and it is vaping quite nicely, even with a little higher ohm coil then I'd like.

I am really enjoying the convenience of the squonk for a fresh dripping experience.

Tomorrow I will get it down closer to 1.2 or so and mess with my wicking material, really looking forward to playing!

I will probably open up the airhole a little bit, its just a touch tight for me.

I am a happy camper!

Do an 8 wrap. 28Gauge. 1/16. 1 ohm. cotton.

You'll end up at 7-8 wraps anyway.. may as well go there right away..

I've been calling this config the "noob coil", but as well as where I started, it's also where I came back to, after trying a LOT of different configs. It really is a sweet spot
It needs a new name.
The "C 1-8-16-28" ? no..

um..
The "sweet" coil ?

So besides potentially blocking the juice hole, is there any disadvantage to long tails?

Besides making sure the sqonk hole is clear, also make sure the airflow under the coil is not obstructed. All the experienced Reo RM2 builders say to cut the wicks short, so there must be good reason.

Nice setup, congrats on your new Reo, I understand the "admiring the beauty" bit!
