I can't believe I quit smoking!

Yes, just as the title says I quit smoking! :toast:Thanks for all the information available about e-cigarettes on the internet, including the ECF and other forums that helped me educate myself on vaping and quitting smoking traditional cigarettes.

I was a constant smoker (not saying heavy smoker), half-a-pack-a-day smoker for almost 20 years until I can't stand my kids who kept saying they wanted me to stop smoking because they loved me, that their school teacher said smoking was bad, etc. So I thought why not appreciate their love by quitting smoking? Well, I tried several times in the past but always failed. But this time, I did my research on the internet as I heard about e-cigs and I wanted to buy one that I can use as a transition to 100% quitting from real cigarettes.

So I saw a convenient store selling a disposable e-cig for $10 and I tried it. It was funny but I said why not give it a try. That only lasted 2 days but it helped me avoid traditional cigs. I came back to the store and bought NJoy mini starter kit for $20 so I could recharge/refill. Not too bad for a basic starter. Now I have the Joye Ego and so far I'm pretty happy with it. I've been stocking with some e-liquid yet I still need to find the best flavor for my taste. I can't promise I can stop vaping anytime soon (but I don't want my kids to see me vaping all the time). But I am so happy now that I have been 1 month free from smoking real cigarettes. I can't believe I quit smoking! Here I'm at ECF and I expect to learn more here about e-cigs and all.

Thanks everyone for welcoming me to this forum and for sharing your experience about quitting smoking and your experience with vaping. For those who still smoke but want eventually quit, I wish you luck. It is hard but it is not impossible.
Well, I have only been 1 month 100% free from cigarettes but the fact that I have no urge nor craving for tobacco cigs (even when I'm around my friends who still smoke) makes me very confident that I can keep myself free from smoking. :)

Congratulations with quitting! I'm in the same boat - I tried the disposable - only the tobacco shop got me for $20 and not $10 - so they made money off of my impulse =)

Being just a couple days into the e-cigs, I decided to have half a cigarette today figuring it would resolve some of the "strangeness" from quitting tobacco (like the weird throat feeling, etc). Ultimately, it tasted horrible, gave me a sore throat, and showed me that I did the right thing lol.
