I don't know why I did it. I bought a pack of smokes and have had 6 today. Better than my usual 25, but still.

They don't even taste good. They taste disgusting. I still smoked them.

I don't know if something about the juice I've got isn't doing it for me, or what. I've got 18 mg and 12 mg of different flavours I'm mixing together (mostly because I just didn't want to waste the 12 mg, which is what I got at first). Should I get a higher concentration?

No, just stick with it. You'll get there in time.

The first time I quit, it was super easy. . . once I found a juice I loved. Until then? I was back and forth, but cutting way back.

The second time I quit, I just forced myself to deal with it. It was pretty tough for the first three weeks, as I just wanted "the real thing." Get through that window, whatever it may be for you, and you'll be good.

Until then, even 6 is better than 25! Be happy with excellent progress.

Maybe. 18mg should be enough though, I would think. Could also be your juice not tasting very satisfying. Get a small bottle of 24 and see if it gives you a better fix. When I quit, I started at 24 mg and it was actually too much and I had to cut down to 18 but once I got the nicotine right and the flavor right, everything else seemed to work fine. Tomorrow's a new day. Don't let today get you down.

Don't sweat it. It took me almost a year to fully stop smoking when I started vaping. I cut down significantly right away but I mean to fully not think about smokes it took me a year. I used to read the first day success stories and get so frustrated but eventually I made it. It took a lot of time and money to figure out but you can do it! I would suggest if you need more of a throat hit up your nicotine to 24mg.

Espresso, 6 is more than 400% better than 25! That's great progress! Rather than focusing on the analogs you had, think about the ones you didn't have, and be gentle with yourself. Then, as others have already suggested, get a great tasting juice with a bit more nic. You can always mix it with something you already have if it's too much -- but lots of us keep a higher nic level on hand for emergencies :)

Definitely don't beat yourself up about it, you are doing fantastic! It's hard at first, very hard, but just keep trying different juices and things until you find what it is that you need to make it work best for you ;) Tomorrow is another day, try thinking of it more like a race, not against anyone, only yourself. You ran well today, and tomorrow try to run a little harder and faster, and eventually you will reach the finish line in your own time and your own way and proud of what you accomplished and more importantly what you learned about yourself along the way ;) I always tell my son that you can never fail if you never give up trying!

Not a big deal that you smoked as long as you don't make it one.

When I first started vaping, I had to become accustomed to the nicotine delivery system. You may well be getting enough nicotine, but you may have not learned to deal with the behavioral aspects of vaping. For me, part of this is not knowing when to stop vaping when I was new to it. When a cigarette was done, it was done. When is vaping done? Do it in an RDA, and you could count the drips or fills and lose track. With a clearomizer, it isn't finished until the tank needs to be refilled. As I started with a clearomizer, I wasn't sure I was getting enough nicotine. Since becoming a more experienced vaper, I can identify more precisely what nicotine feels like in my body.

Sometimes your setup needs to match your needs as well. I didn't really feel like I was smoking until I building on RDAs. It's not that difficult really, though it is not for everyone. I have even seen vape shops build coils for their customers for a small charge. Gotta buy coils anyway.

Another strategy I used was to use all my money I would ordinarily spend on cigarettes and spent it on anything I thought would make the transition from cigarettes easier. Lungs tired of vaping on bad air flow? I bought a mod. Better juice? I bought it. Need more nicotine? Buy the higher dosage and don't worry about the unused portion. Whatever it took to avoid buyer's remorse and cigarettes.

Stick with it. It is way more enjoyable than cigarettes and is very customizable to your needs.

18 mg is what I started with. I would not go to 24 mg, but some people need that.

A lot of people dual use for a long time as they wean themselves off. It doesn't mean you can't do it. Like LittleBird said, it's not about the 6 you smoked. It's about the 19 you didn't smoke. Take pride in the fact that you've cut down to about 25% of what you used to do daily. You will progress further at YOUR pace.

I wouldn't even worry too much about liking the higher nic emergency liquid. Mine is just ok. I keep a cheap tank filled with it and just use it for the !OMG MUST SMOKE! moments. Since I don't like it as much, it makes it easier to put down once I'm over the fit.

My regular is 18mg, my emergency is 24, but I've got some 12 steeping to begin cutting back in the evenings.

Don't feel bad. I was out the other day having a few beers with a buddy that just moved back to town and where we were was non-smoking but allowed vaping. I was good then we went outside to leave and he light up a smoke. I bummed one as it was the kind I used to smoke. Honestly it did not taste good at all and realized that I really didn't miss that taste. Only thing I missed was the menthol feeling of the cigarette.

Welcome to the forums, espresso :)

Don't know if this helps, but I was *NOT* one of the folks who can claim "I started vaping and quit smoking cigarettes the same day." Just wasn't my chemistry. It was 3-1/2 years from my first vape to my last cigarette (although, the first 3.4 years weren't a very diligent attempt at vaping exclusively....) When I finally got "serious", it was still about a month before I finally stopped.

Hang in there...
