I dont get it, help please

When TC works I love it but.... Ok so I woke up a little while ago with device off all night. I go to use my Joytech Cuboid with Kanger Nano Ni200 coils, the original nano not the newer one with redisgned coils. I keep getting Temp Protection. The settings are 450f and 40w of power. So what is "Temp Protection" and why does the mod start at 200f? Is it possible to use it at 200f? Oh, I did try changing the watts from 150 down to 20w. I just dont get the 200-600f range when it seems to only work between 5and6 hundred so what am I not getting about TC? Is it the Kanger coils?

Temp protect just means you are at your set temp and the mod is backing down the power to keep you there (it's not a warning, just informational). I don't have that mod, but if it's one that requires you to lock in the resistance of the coil while at room temperature - are you doing that? Make sure your 510 connector is clean both on the mod and atty (I use a q-tip dipped in alcohol - not dripping wet but damp). Make sure your coil is screwed down (making good connection). I usually set my temp at 420-450F and wattage at 30-50 depending on juice and coil mass (I use RTA's and build my own coils). If you have your wattage set at 150 you will hit temp protect very quickly.

thanks, I'll give the connection a little cleaning with alcohol. By the way what do you use for rebuilding(SS, Ni, Ti)?

I rebuild with ni and love it. Have many friends that love ss and ti so it's a personal preference.
Temp protect hits on my rx200 quickly as well. May need to adjust your tcr.
More important that the temp protect message is, how is the vapor production?
If you are getting good vapor don't sweat the message as the mod is just doing its job. If not, play with the tcr, wattage and temp, as everyone seems to have different preferences.
Also there are Alot of tcr lists/explanations on Ecf if you aren't familiar.

I've used Ni200, Ti01, SS316L, and SS 430. Since getting the 430, it's all I've been using. I like SS because it can be used in either power mode or TC and can be dry burned. I prefer 430 because out of all the grades of SS available , it has the highest TCR (410 is actually a touch higher but I'm not aware of where it's available).

Like Hightech Redneck said, it comes down to personal preference.

TC represents a seriously steep learning curve for a beginner. A year ago it was the preserve of nerdy vapers looking for the cutting edge. Now it seems 200 watt TC mods and wind-tunnel tanks are considered an entry level device.
