but I do have a Harbor Freight double barrel rock tumbler. I made up a batch of 30 ml of 12mg nic 50/50 using FA Vanilla Cupcake/Hangsen French Vanilla Ice Cream at 15% combined in a blue glass bottle. I gave the mix a 1 hour hot bath in a sealed insulated thermos and then wedged the bottle into the tumbler barrel close to the outer edge so it couldn't move and turned the tumbler on. The tumbler rotates about 45 times a minute and has a pretty good vibration to it. It's been tumling about 7 hrs. now and I'm about ready to take it out and give it a test vape. Has anyone else ever tumbled their e-juice to get it blended?? I'm just trying to make do with what I've got.

I went to Harbor Freight a couple weekends ago for an ultra-sonic cleaner and they told me they haven't been able to get them and that they had been back ordered for a couple months. I looked at the rock tumbler and thought about trying to use it for my DIY juice, but passed on trying to implement the idea.

I had read that people didn't like the timer function on the HF cleaner, so I was already going to try and disable that, but since they didn't have them at all, I found one in the jewelry department at Walmart, and it's probably a better one anyway since it was a couple bucks cheaper, has two compartments and two speeds with no timer.

Let us know how the tumbler works out for you.

I'd love to know the outcome! I have a rock tumbler, but I've been using my ultrasonic and didn't even think of the tumbler. It sure would be easier to just put it in and go out for the day. I have to reset the ultrasonic every 4 minutes:p

AmandaD, mine only goes for 3 minutes, so I have a clip holding the On button down and then it's plugged into a cheap timer that's set for 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off. :)

I don't think I can do that with mine? It won't go unless I set the timer and then press the 'on' button - so I think I'm out of luck:(

One thing you might try.

Next time you Make or Get some Retail e-Liquid, try Splitting it equally into 2 Bottles.

Then put the First Bottle thru all the Hoops with the Rock Tumbler and the Hot Water and the __________. And the Other Bottle, just put it in a Cool Dark Place for 5 Days Undisturbed.

Then do a Blind Taste Test as to which one Tastes Better. Or if the Taste the Same.

The Results may Surprise you.

It seems to have worked. I put a bit in a PT mini and it had plenty of flavor every hit and my head didn't explode!! I think it may benefit from a little alone time on the shelf overnight to complete the meld. I'll give it another try in the morning. I'm just so new at this, I don't know if a batch turns out right or not. So far, everything has been vapeable and hasn't turned me into a zombie.....or has it???

I do have a shop around the corner that makes juice and they have one flavor I'm fond of. It tastes OK the first day but after a week or so, it's really nice. I might trot over in the morning and pick up a bottle and try the Tumbler Torture on it. Since I have a bottle that's already aged, I'll see the results without having to wait the several days. Thanx for the suggestion, I'm still on the downdip loop of the learning curve here and really appreciate any help I can get.

To Me... There is No Doubt that my DIY Mixes taste Much Better after 4 or 5 Days. It Isn't really Even Up for Debate for what I Mix.

But what you Do to it in those 4 or 5 Days depends on just how Much Time and Effort I want to spend.

I can do Cap On and Then Off. Hot Water Baths. All Manor of Shaking from Taping to a Ceiling Fan to Ultrasonic Cleaners. You name it.

But for My Mixes, it all does the Same Thing as just Screwing the Cap on a Bottle and then Coming back to it 4~5 Days Later.

But, of Course, YMMV.

And whatever works Best for You is the Best Way to Do It.

I may be mis-understanding you. But isn't the point of using the ultra sonic to get the same results as a 5 day sit in a cool dark place done in a way faster time frame?

Or are you saying running your juice in the ultra sonic cleaner does not compare to a cool dark 5 day steep?

I'm just curious if the ultra sonic cleaner I'm waiting for is only going to be usefull for cleaning things or is it a steep short cut as well?

There's a very long thread somewhere showing that steeping in an ultrasonic cleaner markedly reduces time needed :) And, yes it does - I've done it, and it makes an enormous difference. You can get results in hours that would take a week.

Yes I have read the threads and this seems to be the general concensus. But then I read zoiDman's post and that has me confuzuled.

...

That is what Most people are Trying to Achieve.

I guess if I had to have my e-Liquid an e-Liquid ready to go Very Quickly for some reason, Then doing All the Things people suggest Might makes sense.

I think my Time Frame is just 4~5 Days Behind theirs.

Example:

Order and e-Liquid 4~5 Days Earlier than you Need it.

Mix an e-Liquid DIY Recipe 4~5 Days Earlier than you Need it.

I have an Ultrasonic Cleaner. It just sits in a Box. Was kinda a Waste of Money when I realized that I got the Same Results by Doing Nothing than I did from Using it.

I haven't purchased a UC yet. Trying to get closer to the black line in my vape accounting. Now I do what someone suggested. Make some juice, enough for a week or so. Then when you grab that bottle, make another so it will be ready when you finish vaping the other. Honestly though, i do like gadgets and toys so I am sure I will give in and purchase the UC.
