I don't like the V2 switch.

This is my one substantive complaint with an otherwise excellent device:

The switch sucks. Why? Because it's far too easily activated. It activates if I barely press down on the switch HOUSING, let alone the actual button. Just today I had an atomizer and cart completely melt down because I tossed a paperback book on my couch and it landed on top of my Prodigy V2. The V1 switch only activated when I wanted it to. This one activates inadvertently all the time. Not cool.

Lengthen the spring a bit Surf .... Grab each end and pull -- Mine was pretty easy to activate and I wanted some more *oomph* behind it. Lengthened the spring = much more oomph ...

Standard spring is rated at 5.1 lbs. I believe ...

I tried that to no avail. Then again, I didn't want to pull it hard enough to risk ruining it. I'll try again...

I do NOT like the switch either. This is my second switch and it too HITS AND MISSES.
I just bought me another V1 from the classifieds. I hate this switch on the V2.
Never not one time had any problems with the V1 switch. This new switch not very good. I hate it.

I second that. Never a problem with the V1 switch. V1 switch will not fire by accident in your pocket. Not so with the V2.

Wow!! I love the new V2 switch!

I carry it in my shirt pocket all day and it never fires when I don't want it to. "Never"
Always fires when I want it to "Always"

I only wish my mech switches for the V1 and the Protege hit this good and I don't really have a problem with them. (Must be the voltage I'm getting use to)

Everyone wanted a mechanical switch that was easy to fire now there's a problem with it firing to easily ?

Everyone = all that were a part of the original thread when the mech switch was invented.

I feel for ya Steve. "Can't please em all"

There will never be the perfect PV for everyone. We're all toooo different. (Which is a good thing BTW)

Appreciate the kind words Brock :) We try our best to make the best *overall* mod we can. The V1 is an ancient piece of history at this point (yet it's not even a year old) Neither the Shop, nor I, had any experience making small components like this, so for the past 8 months, its been a real learning experience. If we have an issue, we try to iron it out, and update it. We use the best materials we can, and keep the costs as low as we can ...

Although we can't please everyone, we certainly try, and I'm always willing to take a look at someone's equipment if they feel it just isn't up to par :)

Just as an FYI .. my "ancient piece of history" is still workin' like a champ, resistored switch and all! When I stopped smoking I was at 3 packs a day .. so don't even think I vape any less now ... this bad boy has earned it's keep and then some ... so maybe you and the shop had no clue .. but somebody, somewhere, at some point .. did something RIGHT ! Ancient piece of history .. huummphhh :p :p :p :D

This IS the solution. Found mine a bit too easy to activate upon arrival as well... stretching the spring completely transforms the feel of the press ...I stretched mine out a bit a few days ago and now with cash's indication gave it a bit more of a stretch and find it's resistance perfect. Nice incidental design feature allowing customizable experience... Maybe xtra springs for purchase?
Initial reluctance to the mechanical switches on my Proteges is also a thing of the past ... I'm now a convinced appreciator of the 'upgrade' reality of the new mechanical switches.
It does seem that some fiddling is inherent to the 'art of the vape' and living with our devices and the forum is a cure for many a phantom flaw...this one for me at least is revealed as another Puresmoker strength...
Try the stretch..... and i hope enjoy a great PV.

Steve, I replaced my rubber brace band with an o-ring and stretched my spring----the V2 is a BEAST with that combo, not ONE misfire, or prob! Just puttin that out there :D

BTW- the o-ring doesnt leave a long throw, but damn....it works like a BEAST! did i mention its a beast? :D

Angus and Steve, u outta at least try it ;) Those of you that dont know me, check my signature - I promise I dont call something a BEAST unless it REALLY is!!!!! :)
