I refilled my first carto just now, after usually just tossing them all away.

I did everything that sticky video at the top showed you how. I put 15 drops in because at that point it looked really flooded. (I can never really tell when its empty, I usually toss it when the taste turns to a slight burning taste, but it still vapes) and I popped everything back in place, took 3 drags and each drag got a mouthful of liquid :/

I had similar problems as you: my mileage definitely did vary even following the refilling vids: some refills would take between 17 and 20 drops and some wouldn't take 10 without overfilling. The problem was you don't know if it's good or not until you vape with it.

Here's what I do now: when vaping a freshly refilled carto, I take some very light drags, nothing to inhale, just like starter puffs only lighter--if I hear even the hint of gurgling, it's either not soaked in or it's overfull and I know I'll get a mouthful of juice on a "real" drag.

So, if it gurgles, you can:
1. Try this, as mentioned above: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/vapor4life/47584-my-refilling-trick.html

2. Put the carto aside and let the juice soak in more

3. With all the condoms/plugs out, blow lightly through the mouthpiece end over the sink or paper towel to push excess juice out through the battery-side hole, and be sure to clean/dry off the battery end--don't want to gunk up your battery.

No matter which of these you choose, be sure to do the light drag test on it again for your first vape, in case it's still really flooded.

Practice makes perfect!
