Probably because I thought it was almost right over it? lol

Ahhh. The hole in the bottom is the squonk hole. That's where the juice comes in. The air hole is a tiny hole in the top cap. You want to get that coil as close as possible to where that tiny hole will be when you screw the cap on. Make sure the coil doesn't actually touch the cap though.

This is also a great tip. Mine is moved in just a wee bit but then I am also running with dual 5/64 intakes.

When you say that, I'm guessing you mean get the coil as close to the air hole as possible, and NOT the squonk hole. Right?

Aha ok redid coil...managed 1.6 miscounted wraps but fine for experimenting and mounted it closer to outer edge so would be closer to air hole and already some improvement. Will try a lower resistance coil later...ty!

I've been so happy with the RM2 that I haven't even tried any of the other attys.

I bought the Cyclone a bit ago, in hopes of adding a Dibi or another Reo to my lil family. However, I did not like it one lil bit. Very harsh. I know it is my build and I will revisit someday...hard to fiddle with it when I have a perfect vape from my rm2 stock. I do use a wide bore drip tip. That might be why I am comfortable with the smaller air hole. I had to have the IgoW opened up but the rm2 has been perfect for me just the way it is.

Since I can't afford the Dibi and I can't pull the trigger on another Reo yet, the poor lil Cyclone gets no love. Maybe I can afford the AFC before it is all said and done. First I will see if I even need it. I don't usually change my AFC settings on other stuff. I find the one I like and stick with it. I can open the Cyclone a bit if I need to.

I bought a second RM2 for backup, then ended up buying a second REO for it to go on! :) Seriously though, when it came time to buy the second atty I didn't even consider the RM3 or any of the other options. The RM2 is so easy to build on and I'm very satisfied with the vape, so I'm pretty much like "don't fix it if it ain't broke!".

Space for juice to get to the wick so it soak the whole wick faster and easier.

The waiting list for a Dibi is over a year out. So get a spot now, that should give you plenty of time to put enough away.

I know! And I really want one but after I saw the price (about $100 more than I thought) I just don't know if I can swing that. I do have a savings started just for the next new toy (Dibi or Reo that is).

The DNA30 is a monkey wrench in the works. And it is going to be an expensive monkey wrench. I was not going to even consider getting in the co-op but then my old standby regulated mod started getting wonky. I want one more regulated that I can trust and can be repaired locally so I can trust it to work for a very long time. When that bites the dust, who knows what technology will be out there. Or, if there will be nothing out there due to the FDA making sure we are all safe and back to smoking stinkies! (nope, we won't smoke, we have options!)

I hope I am not derailing this thread too badly but I have a question about the rm2. My ceramic deck is becoming slightly discolored in one or two spots. I know it is from the cotton getting gunked and whatever. Do I need to worry about it? So far I just do the normal wash weekly or so and a clean up with q-tip when I rewick. It gets dark when I push it too long before wick changes and then it just doesn't clean up back to the pure white in that spot.

I've seen a few threads discussing it over in Reoville and the consensus was try cleaning with some PGA and what's left afterwards is not a problem

The point with the Dibi list is it's just a reservation not a commitment, history is about a 30% drop-out rate.

I gave up on regulated they always broke on me, I'm hard on devices. A few REO and/or Dibi mods with a liter of 100mg nic in the freezers is about the best FDA insurance possible. I figure that gives me 5 years or more to wean myself off nic, I could keep vaping zero nic after that.

That's what I seem to recall from discussions over there as well. I've never done it myself - just rinse mine with water and wipe it down with a q-tip. It's a bit discolored after almost a year, but it doesn't create any bad flavor or affect how it works.

Hits the nail on the proverbial head......:thumb:

I was also running into issues where the center of my wick was burning out and thought this might solve the problem. It did and also serves the purpose FB and distro mentioned. After getting the coil jig thingy making the split coils is easy as pie. I think I have a battery case full of them atm.
