I've been vaping for roughly 3 weeks now and its been great up until now. Not one craving for an analog but not without side effects.
First of all I admit that I was never addicted to nicotine. I use cigarettes when I drink or when I travel internationally. When I return from a trip it usually takes me a week to wean myself of of them. Once I accomplish that I do not have a craving for them unless I drink or go on another trip.
I thought maybe instead of analogs I'd be doing myself a favor by using an E-Cig but now I question that idea.
WHY ?
I've been vaping non stop for 3 weeks. From what I understand you shouldn't get into this type of pattern. If you're using it for nicotine cessation then you take one or two vapes and walk away from it until you REALLY need it again. knowing this diminished the fun aspect of it for me. I was never addicted to nicotine I just like smoking at times. If I can't smoke more (by vaping) then what purpose does it serve me ? Not much.
It's been fun trying all the different flavors and playing with my new toy. I liken it to choosing a pair of sneakers or playing with your xmas gifts. The problem is I began to vape too often and I didn't realize the toxic effect that too much nicotine too fast can do to you. I've been feeling dizzy/vertigo all day up until an hour or two ago. I've been noticing it for a while but it didn't reach the tipping point until today. After 16 hours of feeling this way without vaping I called the 24/7 nurse on the back of my health insurance card for advice. I seriously didn't know if I needed detox or not. I've never gotten into trouble this way with cigs before.
I was on a 12mg juice which another pack a day smoker told me was too much for him as was 6mg. He advised me to buy 0mg juice and mix it with the 6mg to produce a 3mg juice. I had some hope at that point but the more research I did the more I found posts regarding sensitivity to the other ingredients used besides the nicotine like VG or PG. I know very little about those two ingredients and from what I've read I have doubts whether or not I should start ingesting them. Especially when I am not addicted to nicotine.
So my conclusion is (regarding myself) -
I would become a chain vapor which could have serious consequences for me from ingesting an abundance of nicotine. Going to a 0mg juice and vaping that all day still leaves me dealing with the other chemicals that could prove to be just as damaging or maybe I am sensitive to them. Either way Either/Or would make me not feel well so why do it ?
Too bad because it's a great little device which works but not without side effects ***IMO. If I was truly a nicotine addict and couldn't breath or had other smoking related illnesses maybe I would be a little more inspired to try different approaches but I am not.
As I write this I can smell the residue of my E-Juice ( a honey plastic smell) which somehow remained on my desk even though I haven't vaped all day.
This is just one man's trial and error. Take what you want from it but I felt obliged to write about my experiences with the E-Cig.
I hope this helps someone trying to decide if E-Cigs are right for them or not.
