I've been getting fed up of my cheap & cheerful ego's and with uncertain delivery times from China I decided I couldn't wait any longer for something better. I had a bit of look at different mods online, I started with reviews of the Vamo, SVD, SID and a couple of others and couldn't decide between them. There seems to be loads of VV/VW mods for around £50 ... A bit more searching and I saw the joyetech evic, which appealed to my inner geek. It also has the added bonus that it comes with a decent battery (2600mAh 18650) which can be charged in the device. This meant I didn't need to buy extra batteries and a charger, which as a new a vaper I don't own - yet.

Another few minutes searching and I found one on ebay, new, and relatively local. I've just been to collect it. I've had a quick play with the software and I quite like it. I've got to say I'm all ready a big fan of being able to control the wattage/voltage myself.

Cheers guys.
I've gotta say I'm loving having more power and variable wattage. I don't know if it's because the juices are a few days older or I'm vaping them at higher power but a couple of the juices I wasn't keen on earlier this week now taste better.

congrats, how much did it set you back?

Less than the current price for one at Fasttech ;)
That was the deciding factor in me getting the evic. I thought if I don't like it I should be able to sell it and get my money back from it.

djsvapour - I didn't know they were supposed to be fragile, but I'll try and be gentle with it.

There really is a lot of choice around for that sort of money, and prices in this country don't seem too bad if you shop around a bit. The smoktech SID is also quite tempting at £35 ex batteries.

MVP v2 - Mods
Vamo V5 - Mods
itaste SVD - Mods
KSD KMAX - Mods
Smok SID - Smoktech SID VV/VW MOD Battery
Joyetech evic - eVic JoyeTech

I was going to go for a vamo but not so sure now lol

:)

I'm using the SID at the moment but miss the eVic. The SID works just fine, but I'm using it in VV mode, as it only does 7.5/8.0/8.5 etc watts.

I feel sure I'm going to get a Vamo as my next one. You can get a Vamo cheaply and buy 2 or 3 of them for the price of an eVic. The eVic is superior to almost everything out there, but it's expensive...and it should just be about the vaping really, not the gadgets.

They are cheaper in the UK than Fasttech.

I am considering buying a complete one just for the control head. Can't decide just yet.

I couldn't see a control head for sale anywhere for less than a complete kit. Even if they were the same price I'd go for the complete one for the additional spares .... Give me a couple of weeks I may get bored with mine and be looking to sell it :)

Actually after doing a little reading the iclear 30s like to leak and ppl prefer the protank so its a vamo for me

Just thought dual coil i might get more flavour as i find that tasting a juice initially i can really taste flavours but after 2 or 3 drags i cant taste it anymore!

Maybe i need to buy more expensive juices :(

I've not tried an iclear 30 yet (currently on order from China) but I do like the iclear 16's which are similar but smaller. I find the taste is better on the iclear 16 than my mini protanks, I think they also vape a little warmer as well.

If you're looking at kits with Vamo etc. I've heard the chargers aren't very good, so it may be worthwhile looking at separate batteries & chargers.
