I have all the above and a first APV is really easy to figure out based on budget. Of the ones Mentioned, here's my list of favorites based on my opinion of VALUE:

1. sigelei V5
2. Vamo V3 Stainless Steel (they look fine in person)
3. ITaste MVP V2 (VW and Ohm Meter, NOT V1)
4. eVic
5. SID

I Recently sold 7 APV/PV's this week and bought my third Provari. So, buy any three above, and when you're ready, sell them, most sold for more than I paid on ebay, and buy the Provari. Good to the last drop, and perfect with my Phiniac carto tanks. Add Tatroe base and rings and now have my ADV gear. Bout done, gear wise, and I've done nothing but buy and sell for 8 months now.

LOLLL I'm not one of those that doesn't like the grooves...more interested in performance

Performance is fine... I just see so many saying they prefer the smooth, my SIDs are smooth, but I have to watch how I hold them or they will slip out of my hands.... I don't have to worry about that with the VAMOs.

I really liked that rubberized feel of the Ctwists I had...

Not sure what part of the country you live in, but I would suggest visiting some B&Gs in the area (if any) and actually hold them. I held all three of those before deciding to buy the evic. I personally liked the feel of it, even though some people think it feels kind of cheap. I also like the size, it fits nicely in my hands without being too heavy. Good luck

Haven't had much experience with the Vamo or ZMax but got an eVic today. Feels exceptionally well made and has worked like a charm out of the box all evening. Huge step up from my eGo type batteries which were not variable. The whole menu settings and PC software is a bit overwhelming at first and some of the features are unnecessary but they can be fun to play with. It is a bit spendy but I was looking at the Provari which is twice the price.

I have the SID and the v2 VAMO, I am in love with the SID. It is a bargain for the features and the quality is amazing for the price point. No battery rattle in the SID which is a huge pet peeve of mine. The menu set up is slightly more cumbersome to adjust than the VAMO's 3 button menu navigation, but its elegant.

Personally being the SID is around the same price as the VAMO, hands down SID.

I chose the SID over the vamo because of the rubberized grip. I really like that a lot. The one button menu system is inferior to the vamo but not a big deal for me. The threading on mine is smooth as silk except for the bottom cap. I just switch batteries from the top threading.

The SID has better aesthetics (my opinion only) and the ring at the top makes both mini tanks and big tanks look great. The one thing I didn't like (at first) is the 18650 size only. But I recently found out that evic tubes are totally compatible so I'm going to get a 18350 sized tube for pocket ease.

I've used my friends vamo enough to know it's an excellent mod. I'm probably going to buy the V4 soon. Either way, I don't see how you can go wrong with either one. They both have some +'s and -'s side by side. I really like the rubberized grip of the SID and the aesthetics of using small and large tanks. Those are probably the 2 reasons I prefer it over the vamo.

I have an MVP which is nice, but my finger doesn't find the fire button every time - still use it a lot though since it is compact. I put a sticker on the button to help me find it by feel.

I have the SS Vamo V2 and I like the build and flexibilty - it is large and a bit heavy - still a nice device that gets a lot of use.

I have the SVD which makes even the Vamo feel small, but the vape is great and it has more menu flexibility than the Vamo - the lock feature is nice - heavy mod but the balance feels good.

I also have the Sigelei ZMax - I got used to the single button quickly - I like the weight, size, and balance better than the other tube mods - vapes the same as the other two though. If I could only have one then the Sigelei would be my first choice.

Yeah- those black EGO's - that's a nice finish, and it holds up!
I'd like that on a mod...

Actually, joy makes a ego/mech hybrid. It looks like a fat ego... with a removable 18650... has two modes; one puts out a constant 3.3v (it's joyetech, after all), the other mode just gives the battery voltage.

So it's both a huge, non VV ego, and a mech (not sure if they limit output at all though)

The awesomeness depends on what kind of ohm or power limits it has.
