I started vaping last year... picked up a crappy one from the smoke shop and suffered for 4 days hating my life because it sucked so bad before I got online and found the Smokeless Image Volts. I express mail ordered a kit with 78mm batteries and stayed off cigs for close to 4 months. Not a single cig. Then a family member went into the hospital and died of COPD (from smoking), I grabbed a pack of cigarettes because I wasn't prepared with enough charged batteries, filled cartos, juice etc. I smoked for about 3 months because I'd clearly failed this e-cig thing if I could go back to smoking so easily.
One day I woke up and was truly sick and tired.... of being sick and tired. Coughing for an hour every morning after smoking 1.5 packs sucks. I got on SI's site, ordered new stuff, newer sealed batteries (4 instead of 2, and a bigger battery etc.).... and smoked when I needed to instead of denying myself and struggling. I went from 1.5 packs to 3-5 a day immediately, then it was a cig every few days or maybe 5 a week on a Friday. I eventually tried one after skipping a week of my "just a few on a Friday", and puked. From that point, I no longer even wanted one.
SO... I've been through the immediate quit, and the quit on your own terms method. Neither is better than the other. It's a matter of what works for you. If you can quit immediately, GREAT. If you can't, well... you're not alone, and you're not a failure... you can get back on this horse at any time. Nobody is going to yell at you or think any less of you here if you slip.
