I Had to take my e-cigs off my stand today because trading standards said so ....I have a small stand in the Eastgate shopping centre in Inverness, Scotland.... I phoned someone from the forum for help, and got the help i needed .....T/Stands were questioning the nic carts and some of the packaging and chargers etc etc .....I will let you know how i get on ....But i would like to say a thank you to Pillbox for his help .... Once again because of his commitment to what he does he seem to be the type of guy who has all of this e-cig thing above board with the relivent paper work and test results from the labs etc etc .... Many thanks Pillbox ....Will prob call you again soon .... You know what T/Standards are like.

Keith>>>.As i mentioned on the phone before we launched 2The electronic Cigarette Company" we decided to be as pro-active as we could and contacted trading standards, sent them a device and all the paperwork we then had. We heard nothing else, till a post office local to us who stocked the cigs got told same as yourself to stop selling them.

Then like magic, Mr Trading Standards arrived, he was ok, took the paperwork away and basically said that if we keep them posted on what we are doing they would appreciate it.

With the Danish news, the WHO news last week and the RCOS report, most definetely a lot more notice is being taken. Those three things could be construded as negative...But on the opposite side, last week we had a good mention on ABC, An article in the telegraph and today a 90 second piece on BBC Midlands.

So the next step i feel, is getting some influetial person onboard, a professor of medicine or a person of similar status. The having the fluid produced in the UK needs to be high up on the agenda, sell by dates on the cartridges and child proof lids on the juice bottles.

These are small steps as the real challenge is getting it sanctioned as an NRT product, from a business perspective (Which i must admit is my primary motivator) Thats were the big bucks are... And a legitamate product is born..

Good on you ..... I have realy cut back on my real cigs and think this is a good idea and you seem to be one of only a few who are going down the right route .... Must be costing you a fortune though but i guess someone has to do it for e-cigs to keep going...But ...And i say BUT in a good way .... You seem to have the good manorism to actualy talk and listen to people .... Thanks again for your help and i hope all goes ok..... PS .... Your right about the bottles .... Can you just imagine what kind of day they would have had if they saw bottles of liquid NIC for sale on are stand ... hahahahahahaha ..... Thank god i didnt put them on the stand.

A seller's best hope to avoid being shut down is satisfy objections before they become a reason to confiscate or ban a product. Pillbox is doing everything right. He's read this forum, he knows the reasons our products might be banned, and he's working to satisfy objections before a government agency cracks down. Congratuations on continuing to hold high the cause the e-smoking.

You seem to be on the right track for approval for the juice; quality assured ingredients, hazard warning labels, use by dates, childproof caps and toxicology reports.

I emailed ASH today to try to get an idea of whether we might be able to get them onside, they would be powerful allies. - Home

To get approval as an NRT I think you have to go through NICE - Technology appraisals

Keep us informed of progress won't you, sometimes we can offer helpful suggestions :thumb:
