Great interview Pillbox! If ever you need someone to back you up - i can confirm i have quit "analogue" cig's using this e-cig (for nearly a month) with relative ease.
One concern is (mainly directed at Rustylug) is the cartridge usage length. Shouldn't we start advertising them with realistic durations to help quitters goals? There is no way a cartridge is 15+ cigarettes. I appreciate this is a lot down to the user and that your guide of 15 is down from the general guide of 20 cigarettes. We really need some hard and tested facts. I would estimate more 5 per cart.
Respect to you all.

I myself have 100% quit cigarettes 7 weeks ago thanks to e-cigs..... oh and I have moved down from high nic to medium nic carts yesterday, so I am about a quarter of my way through a proper quitting regime.

The classic from e-cigs.co.uk is my e-smoking weapon of choice.

Previously I was smoking 20 real cigs a day. When I moved over to e-cigs, for about the first 2 weeks I was only using 1 cart a day (as it took some getting used to the nicotine hit) Now I am using no more than 2 carts a day .. probably about 1.5-2.0 carts a day, so for me 1 cart = 10-13 real cigs which is a bargain at 41pence each (purchased in 100qty boxes from e-cigs.co.uk)

Nice one lukewells.
I'm smoking the mini from e-cigs.co.uk. NO complaints with steve at all. I considered the classic but its the whole "penstyle" thing that i thought i'd have trouble with.
I've got out of the habit of having a packet around all the time (20+ a-day smoker). I have made my own little box to carry my spare batts, carts and a spare atomizer.
I think, on reflection, i'm probably smoking 3 carts a day if i don't weld the thing to my mouth. That is smoking as i would a normal cigarette.
Bottom line i'm well happy but would like the 1cart= 20real cigs misconception addressed (EVEN THOUGH IT's STILL CHEAPER).

Cheers trog i know what you mean, but ... carts are still cheaper long run. So i think i would have taken the plunge but with less expectation. As it turned out i have ditched a dirty unhealthy habit for a clean, fun and (maybe healthy)habit.

carts would not be "cheaper" for me my roll up tobacco would cost less.. i still consider it to be a dirty (greasy hands) even silly habit.. i certainly dont consider it fun.. more a pain in the ......

but real smoking was killing me and making me cough very badly.. i needed to stop doing it.. e smoking has given me a way.. but cheaper.. no.. clean.. no.. fun.. no.. healthy.. no..

less deadly perhaps.. and my nasty cough disappeared overnight.. he he

e smoking is cheaper now than it used to be.. some of the earlier brand name consumable costs were very high.. some still are..

i once worked out some carts had the liquid they contained working out at over 22.000 dollars per imperial gallon..

the other part of the con was they dont tell u the product will have to be replaced on a regular basis.. some are now doing this but the old bunch never did..

Not cheaper!

Lets say I smoke 1 pack a day.

Smokes (lets use marb reds) cost 6.75 a pack after sales tax. That equals 6.75 x 30 for 1 month, $202.50 a month

If I smoked 4ml a day x 30 days, and I pay a crazy $1 per 1ml, $120 a month.

I buy for $0.50 per 1ml , retail china cost = $60 a month

If I buy bulk in China, paying $0.25 per 1 ml = $30 a month.

So we can take the middle option of retail china cost $0.50 per 1ml and we save ($205.5-$60)=$142.50 per month if we smoked 1 pack a day and started vaping 4ml a day.

I see 3ml a day as the normal amount used.

No way is anyone spending $142.50 per month in replacement hardware, every month!!
After your initial kit investments (2 kits) for $80-$150 total, you will spend maybe...at most, high number 50 bucks a month in replacement parts.....you just don't burn through that much hardware.

So you would have to be very unlucky every month, plus buy the most expensive Golden juice ever, for this to be more expensive than cigs.

I am only quoting the post below because it seems to be a subject that is comming up as more shops etc etc in the uk are trying to sell ecigs.

Ps .....Thanks T/Bob for your input in those days ...The forum was a lot smaller in them days and peoples posts were easier to keep track of .... Good to see your still here though :)

Pay close attention to what Rusty is telling us. It's been said many times on this forum that our items are inadequately marked. No question on that. If a first-responder arrives at the scene where a child has consumed liquid from a vial, the first question is: What was in the vial? At a minimum, our liquid containers must state contents by volume and percent. How else is a medical person to react to danger and provide perhaps life-saving treatment?

Childproofing nicotine containers is essential if we hope to have any future. Lab testing on a regular basis will be necessary. Proper invoicing (a joke now) will be necessary to import these items.

Do not compare e-devices to tobacco cigarettes. Those long-established items operate under separate regulations and no one wants to hear your "but e-smoking is healthier" argument. They don't compare.

I would also caution, again, against calling these NRT devices, Pillbox. That's a mistake. That makes them medical devices and there is no way the makers of e-cigs can provide sufficient proof of safety and efficacy to qualify them as NRT. That's an uphill battle that cannot be won in the foreseeable future. These are nothing but personal inhalers, an alternative to inhaling tobacco smoke.

Leave it at that. No promises. Just an option to cigarettes.
