Well, I know how words can be misconstrued here Trog....that's why I didn't want to jump to any immediate conclusions. But actually, there are 3 other mods who have been here since I've been here: Cash, Rat and dnakr.

I agree that at some point, SJ will need to consider more and maybe even have assigned areas so we can keep up with things better.

Right now, in essence, I see we have to rely on members' direct complaints (via the complaint reporting button there) just to become aware of problems (or potential problems) because keeping up with every single thread to spot this ourselves is pretty much impossible.

I really do want to start a thread about this but I just haven't had a chance to yet. I don't even have time to spell check anymore! :D

i used to have my own console gaming forum called clanmatch360. it was no way near the size of this place........not even a fraction of the size! but i gave each section its own mod and it worked very well indeed.

i have no issues with new users who post the same threads.......they are both confused and excited by e-cigs and even though they probably have read the answer they wanted from another thread, there is nothing more reassuring than getting the same question answered personally from a experienced member. which is why they still post the question even though it has been answered many times.
i was a "noob" when i joined around 5 months ago and i felt exactly the same way as the new guys who have just joined now.

dont forget guys n gals.........we ALL used to be noobs!

the only thing that im totally fed up with on this forum are the users who post nothing relevant and simply jump in and out of threads to verbally attack other people who are having a semi heated discussion. its almost guaranteed that these users will decide who is losing and then make a strike. yet these fools who are nothing short of antagonistic troublemakers always seem to slip under the radar.
ive seen it happen to a few members now. quite frankly its like watching a total coward suddenly grow a set of balls and then attack someone who is already on the floor.

just my opinion........

I guess the problem is that all the older members have already discussed every e-cig issue to death in the old threads and any issue can be researched with a simple search........ the fact is there is hardly 'any' reason for someone new to ask a question or even make a post....unfortunately for a lot of people it isn't just about finding out facts about e-cigs ..it's also about having a conversation with another human being and having some social interaction.

lot's of traffic.
lot's of good people.
lot's of info.

great conversation, great entertainment, educational, informative and fun with minimal interference.

if it ain't broke, don' fix it!

Thanks for that - I'm with you on this. The "minimal interference" is important, I think.

I joined this forum way back in Aug Last year and their was only a handfull of regular people who used to post on the foum such as Katie the smoking Nun, T/Bob who i used to read almost all his posts, pillbox, cash and Leaford etc etc .... But now this forum is of monster size and i just cant seem to find them anymore.

Anyway what im saying is i miss you guys and i miss the old times when the forum was a bit smaller.

I still think the forum is a good idea for keeping e-cigs in light, I just miss not being able to keep up with it now as it moves so fast.

Anyway i will still keep coming back to see what the new guy or girl is saying about what the have discoverd, and see if they felt the same way i did when i 1st seen an e-cig.

Geeeeee ..... Going down momoray lane .... The hassle with Trading Standerds .... Me sitting for Hrs in the Log Cabbin in Inverness cursing my mobile phone if my internet crashed.....reading all of "todays posts" ...... us in the news papers and finding out half the forum had read about it before i even bought a paper....kate and her damm polls ......T/Bob and his always sensible answers....and Leaford who had to have every ecig going so he could do a video hee hee hee.... And of corse some of the arguments between suppliers and customers were good reading after 2 btls of wine at 3am ....Some of the videos people posted were funny as hell.....And we cant forget we saw the birth of Totaly Wicked And Trogs Screw Driver ON THE FORUM.

Its all been fun over the months thanks to you lot
Im not leaving or anything like that ...Just wanted to know if you guys are ok and still here :|

the popularity has exploded man...... growth growth growth

I truly believe politics are starting to ruin this forum. Anytime someone like Kate can be banned from this forum for speaking out against special interest politics & greed, then that tells me that this place is starting to move away from being for the general public, and starting to move toward being for money and popularity. I am really sickened by her bannishment. You will probably be seeing less of me here from now on (I'm sure everyone is pretty happy about that).

my view on anonymous complaints aint a favorable one.. sam.. snitch on yer maties with impunity no one will know aint good.. anything to say.. say it out in the open is my take.. your job is to keep things from getting out of hand..

because keeping up with every single thread to spot this ourselves is pretty much impossible.

it is and you make my case for more mods perfectly..

and with greatest of respect to the original mods.. i think they have other things to do now than spent hours on this place...

doing a mods jobs properly takes time and effort.. a place like this also needs more than two active ones.. i recon ten to do the job properly..

relying on private anonymous pm snitching aint the way to do it.. mods need to be here seen to be here and aware.. that is exactly what they are for..

they are in essence forum policemen..

this is of course purely my opinion.. make of it what you will...

best of luck..

It should probably be clear that complaints here are not anonymous. Since I've started this, I have seen complaints come in and it helps a lot to be able to at least look at them.

The reason I suggest this is because for sure, I (or the others) might not see something wrong right away. How could we possibly ever read each and every thread to make sure members aren't overstepping bounds, incorrectly promoting products, spamming, etc? Hell, I haven't even gotten through the first page of new threads yet! Others reporting helps particularly if there's something major going on that we aren't aware of.

And I agree more mods are needed....and hopefully something SJ will eventually consider. Meanwhile, we do the best we can. I mean, with 5000+ members, and growing every day, it's never going to be easy. Maybe we need a neighborhood watch program....LOL

Heavy modding kills forums. It is the wide range of banter that keeps it alive and dynamic. The modding on this forum is some of the best I've seen in 24 years of forum and BB use.

We'll try to keep it that way. The "police" function that Trog refers to in an earlier post is often performed on this forum simply by other users showing their displeasure at inappropriate postings. Nobody wants hordes of jackbooted mods stomping all over the threads imho.

Hey lu,
Have you got any complaints about me yet?
If you haven't I need to step up my game a bit
