I could care less what these "studies" say, the reason i started vaping was to knock off cigs. I've said it before, when i smoked cigarettes i couldnt even go 5 minutes into a game of ball before i coughed up black stuff and had to sit out. Ever since ive been vaping i can breath and play numerous games. My body gives out before my lungs do now.

I will now thanks for the link, I actually looked to comment on that article but of course no option for that

Right On Joe.

I get Discouraged sometimes when I see a Thread that has Hundreds and Hundreds of Posts in it. And Everyone is Upset about some Article they just saw. But No One thinks of telling the Author/Media Site what they think.

Read what I've posted Spidey I have been doing my bit both with the public and politicians for nearly three years but I'm one person on very limited funds who uses his brothers business party's to get my foot in the door with politicians and take it from there and i don't know how many people I've helped switch to vaping as I don't keep a count.
Well then it sounds like you're doing everything you can do. Kudos. Just keep it up and make sure those you convert know about what's going on too.

I had two smokers yesterday tell me about all the garbage they've heard about ecigs. One was very adamant that it was the truth so I left her to continue smoking. The other one was way more receptive to the truth, and when I explained exactly what's in them, how they work, and how those studies are seriously misleading, she seemed way more responsive to the idea. Gave her a pink Ego-t and a bottle of juice. Another one converted. Lol

I'm a bartender in Nevada, where it's still legal to smoke inside casinos and bars and where there's no closing time or alcohol cut off hour. I watch people chain smoke hours and hours on end...these same people tell me daily "you don't know what's in that juice stuff, it could be anything". You just can't fix stupid. I try and educate people, I've started carrying a drip-tip just for sharing since I have, at least, one or two strangers "trying" my set-up or juice every shift I work. I've also learned that some people just want to be ignorant and argue. We can all try but there are Chicken Little's out there who read these "news" stories of crap and latch onto mis-information and regurgitate it out to anyone who'll listen. As long as there's money to be made in putting out stories like this one the "news" will keep it up.

I didn't realize pg is in asthma nebulizers, lol, that'll be my new answer to the "you don't know what's in that juice", cigarette chain smoking crowd.

Is that Duluth Ga ? I'm in Douglasville Ga. I've grown to despise the media in general. Everything they report is to further an agenda. Doesn't matter if it's vaping or race relations. With the media now days you only get one side of things and its the side they want you to get. And they don't care if they start a riot "peaceful protest" in the process
Duluth MN.

Funny thing, on my pinterest page I have a board vaping is everywhere and it's picture of celebrities vaping, i have about 25 of them. I believe we could get them to donate there time for the vaping cause. I'm going to try, but others need to too. my saying is Vape Loud, Vape Proud. Fyi loud not rude, as had people take it to mean that. Bad thing is advertising is big money business and we the people as individuals don't have it but together we do one dollar each would put together a big ad campaign.

St. Louis County Says No to Vaping via Duluth News Tribune
http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/news/health/3743240-st-louis-county-says-no-public-vaping

During a public hearing at the county courthouse in Duluth, Iozzo pleaded with the board not to reduce access to e-cigs, which use heat to produce a vapor instead of the smoke-producing combustion of traditional cigarettes.

But Iozzo and two other e-cig proponents were far outnumbered by a string of e-cig detractors, most of whom were medical doctors, medical students or public health professionals.

Three people advocating at the session out of the entire county. - Let that thought marinate.
Then look at the poll on the site.

The only time you'll see a full media about-face is after BP and BT have picked through the remains of vaping as we know it like vultures on a fresh carcass. Once their spin marketing teams hop on it, then you'll see the articles and studies released that show "reduced risk" and 'medical benefits'.

Awhile back I looked up how much an advertisement would be in the USA Today.
Suffice to say it would be beyond the scope of CASAA.

If you pick a popular magazine, I will be glad to check how much it would cost.
My guess would be somewhere around $40,000 but that's just a guess.

Having said all that, I totally agree with you about what needs doing.
I've felt that way for many years now.

I still say we need Leonardo DiCaprio to step up to the plate.

As an advert, or what industry would most likely want to promote, the cost would be high (from consumer perspective).

But as a public service announcement (PSA), or what likes of CAASA, would want to disseminate, the cost would be lower. I believe significantly lower.

Like anything relating to information distribution, it would benefit from a campaign. One piece in one media outlet, on one day is not likely to seep into many minds. But having coordinators around the country who are strategically working to disseminate info in various ways, and then promoting each others distribution efforts, along with vape community's support, and people would likely get a different story. Well, at least until liberal press seeks to trounce upon the messengers in an all out effort to kill the message.
